It's been delayed worldwide. I'm guessing Sony didn't want Killzone 2 and Resistance 2 to clash too much.

"just to confirm the earlier Killzone 2 release date of February 2009--no news on whether this is worldwide, but as this is a European conference, that will definitely be the Euro release date. Thus far, this delay has been announced for Europe only

It won't happen since I doubt Final Fantasy XIII will be release in February. But if it does then it's good game for Killzone 2 cause there is no way Killzone 2 can compete with Final Fantasy XIII.
i think it will likely be a world wide delay, they wouldnt release it in the US in sept and feb 09 for EU...and i don't see them releasing it in nov alongside with resistence 2. It sucks, but R2 looks good and there will a bunch of other great games to play.
About FFXIII, that still might have a chance at 08 although i am not holding my breath, but two different game types and audiences even though there will be some cross over, there shouldn't really impact each other.

I know we dont got gears of war 2, but Killzone 2 is a competing title. They delayed it so that they can dominate the marked after christmas, and not having to compete in the cramped Christmas-marked. It´s a gamble for Sony to make, but which is gonna pay up since mostly only crap gets released after christmas.

Killzone 2 can definitly compete with Final Fantasy.
I think Final Fantasy has gone downhill and pretty much every game they have been releasing sucks. There is a big markey for shooters now - and a big markey for RPGs. Different genres, different audiences.
