I loved KZ3 mP. Especially operations game mode. It will take some time to get used to it, but its a whole lot of fun. Definitly get with players that like using mics and run together. Gurruilla warfare mode to me just sucks so don't even play that first, Warzone is KZ, but for newer players it can be pretty tough, and the funniest game mode is by far Operations. Just figured I'd pass that on.

It's solid enough to play. But once you get into it you might start to not like it as much. There's always been things about Killzone multiplayer I don't like. For example one of the last times I played the game, happened to be a match where it was like 3 vs 3. Yet *STILL* with hardly anyone playing in that match we had a couple guys hiding in a corner with the invisible sniper cloak. Things like that make you wonder, because obviously the match ended up being a few minutes of running around with hardly anyone getting any kills. At some point I just had to wonder "what is wrong with these poeple?" Killzone 3 multiplayer adds the mech/vehicles.jetpacks and some other cool things, but I really wish they did away with the silly stuff like the invisibility cloak. I also very much preferred the maps in KZ2, although both games have their share of ill-conceived maps.

i played it a lot until the psn network went down... it just hasn't seemed the same since... psn needs a new game to jump start online play for me... maybe resistance 3? Or maybe I go back to cod in november after not bothering with black ops??

I find it to be quite fun, sure it's a lot harder than other FPS MPs but the challenge is what makes it fun.

Most people just RAGE QUIT because they get killed a lot, etc, etc and sell the game. :|

How can one online multiplayer shooter be "harder" than another shooter when they are all basically the same gameplay, and all human vs human? Obviously there are games that cater to more "hardcore" players, but I think Killzone is very far away from that category. If anything it doesn't have nearly as many hardcore players as many other shooters, as evidenced by how few people are left playing KZ2 and even KZ3 has many periods where it seems not all modes are full (in Geurilla warfare for exampe it's *ALREADY* hard to find a full match sometimes, you might end up in alot of 3 on 3 or 4 on 2 type matches).

It's not like there is a huge learning curve like in a flight simulator or something along those lines, KZ3 is just very mediocre in it's online play. THAT is why alot of people probably sell it. I think even SOCOM 4 is a much more hardcore game for people to play online long term, and that one was critically panned and old SOCOM 2 era players shunned it, but it's still alot more than KZ3. KZ3 has a unique universe and is possibly PS3 graphics king, but the online community is not very good at all.

It takes a little while to unlock good weapons for each class, so be ready to invest some time. I'm not a huge fan of the MP. I guess the question is have you played KZ2? If so, did you enjoy it?

Great gameplay ruined by horrible players? not really, its a horrible game ruined by the developers. an invisible sniper with a silenced weappon...so freakin lame. most of the maps suck too. kz2 had better maps, and the perks were more balanced.

Wow, dude the sniper becomes visible when moving and after shooting. And if leveled up all the way and he can get shots off without coming uncloaked there is other methods of finding the snipers. Geez, just about every advantage to a class has a way of being countered. Its called learning to play the game lol. Also to some in here complaining about GW game mode, NO kidding its the worst game mode to play. So I'm glad that you can't find people in that mode lol, thats called people knowing whats good and whats not good. KZ is not about team death match, its about team objectives. So complaining about snipers that are cloaked I would definitly have to say that GW mode is what your playing. Once again its the worst game mode. It just amazes me how people love to complain about KZ games, and then have the thought of even bringing up Socom 4 in the same sentence is just laughable. KZ3 is a beast. KZ2 was great, but as far as gameplay goes and even maps goes KZ3 beats it to death. KZ2 had better features for the game, but as far as gameplay and character movement KZ3 rolls on :)

So there's only 3 modes and one of them is so trashy nobody plays it? Sounds like a great game. NOT!!!! It's not like there's millions of people playing the other modes either. Killzone 3 is already down into the low thousands playing on a daily basis. Fact is it just does not have a large and thriving online community, and KZ3 seems to be dying out at an even faster rate than KZ2. Granted a game like MW2 had millions playing, that wasn't necessarily an indication that it's 1000 times better than Killzone. But Killzone has so few loyal players, that clearly there is SOMETHING driving people to not really be interested in sticking with it.

Anyway the operations mode is "decent", there's alot of good stuff in Killzone. But it's also got a lot of trashy elements that drag it down towards mediocrity. I prefer more straightforward shooters like Battlefield, and yes even SOCOM 4 (at least in terms of online play).I thought Killzone 3 had a better than expected campaign, but the multiplayer was largely disappointing to me.

Warzone game mode has 5 game modes that you play through. Sorry it doesn't boot you out to a lobby screen to start the next game mode for you to feel that you got more modes to play.

Cod is a casual player dream game, and guess what, what ruined Socom series with Socom 4 is that Zipper made it casual friendly. Loved Socom all the way through Confrontation. But Socom 4 is a joke. But I did hear that the coop is fun. Also don't bring up the size of the community, I almost stopped reading once you done that.

I loved it when I played it. I haven't played it for a long time though. I would say it was worth my purchase. I enjoyed the maps in KZ2 way more to be honest. Although it doesn't take too long to get the best guns.

For example, it's harder because you actually have to aim in KZ3, not like in MW where you press a button and pop goes the wiesel. If you don't like the game don't play it.I've been playing FPS games since Doom and Quake 1( which was the first real 3D FPS game) and i must say that KZ2&3 are the best FPS's i've seen to date IMHO.

On the topic,

the multiplayer is great but only if you find people with mics that are willing to play objective based games.Of course there are idiots runing and ruining (camping) the game but there is a trick to that too. After you find the good players, KZ2&3s multiplayer starts to shine.

Its different from other shooters online. Brutal Melee's on other human players are sickly satisfying. The community is what you'd expect to see in an online shooter, so no surprise there. It does take a long time to really get to the juicy bits of the classes; but I suppose they couldn't make it too easy for you = p. Over all; I liked it. It won't replace battlefield, but enjoyable. A great multiplayer for something different

I love it when people say stuff like this. If your running around a map with a cloaked marksman, he's got every advantage in the world...and now he can run around with an SMG instead of just a sniper rifle and pistol. The only way you will ever find him is if he gets hit by someone else. Otherwise, you will get melee'd or shot in the back. Its that simple. You might get lucky...walk into a room and he's the first thing you point at. Otherwise, your done unless he's a terrible shot. The Infiltrator is no better since Bots wont even fire at a leveled up Infiltrator, he now shows up on radar as a friendly, he even has a health bar above him when your playing medic, and he is visibly identical to your troops. Killzone 2 had counters in place to keep these classes from dominating the game. They removed them for Killzone 3 and surprise, surprise...they dominate the games.

I echo sentiments on here...if you never played Killzone 2, you have a good chance at liking Killzone 3...especially if you decide Marksman or Infiltrator is the class you want to play. Its mostly vets of the game and people who get tired of dealing with those two classes that quit the game.

Well in KZ2 there was a thing called custom lobbies, where you could turn off overpowered weapons like the RPG. KZ3 sadly does not have this feature. Killzone 3 is a lot like COD. It takes less bullets to kill people, killstreak notifications pop up on the screen, big numbers flash in the middle of the screen when you earn xp, there are perks, one hit melee, you get new abilities like increased accuracy, (steady aim) faster reload, (sleight of hand) and increased bullet damage. (stopping power) Some of the perks are also copied off of COD like silent footsteps, (ninja) body armor, (juggernaut) or extra ammo. (scavenger)

Guns have weight to them, so do people in heavy armor; you shouldn't be able to swing a gun around like a stick, shoot with no recoil, and buzz around like a bee.

It's ok I guess, as long as you don't go in expecting it to be like KZ2. KZ2 is better in every single way though.

Just watch out for allies who are running right towards you, they're usually infiltrators looking to score a brutal melee kill, and if you see a friend coming out of an area that enemies normally come out of, shoot.

I really liked it. It has a kind of Team Fortress vibe to it and the ever changing objectives is a great way to play.

I reccomend it. Good multiplayer.

People mostly buy this game because it has the word "Killzone" in its title. If they actually heard what most people are saying about this game noone would buy it...

And people complaining about how awfull this game is compared to Killzone 2 are right but for god's sake, i have seen some unbelieveable complaints :o

"I cant see in front of me with all the numbers popping on my face, i quit"

"Guerilla Game what are you gonna do about people purposely not unlocking Radar Jammer, they ruin the game, i quit"

No pistols only games made me quit.

By the way Most Horrible Community Ever : http://community.killzone.com/

Most people in there are Master Trolls.

Haven't played the full game yet but based on the beta It's pretty good. However I prefer KZ2. KZ3 just didn't have that same feel KZ2 did... Based on the beta and demo anyway, but I doupt the full game will be much different.

Killzone 3 has a great multiplayer. Problem is its not Halo or COD. There are just so many other fps multiplayer games out. If you're into sci fi Killzone 3 is for you. Plus the community is pretty cool for the most part.

It is really fun, but some people dislike because it is not like COD, it actually requires more skills

It's almost exactly like CoD, people hate it because it is so much like CoD compared to KZ2....

One of the very few multiplayer games I've ever played because I'm not into multiplayer but that one was fun.

The game play is nothing like cod. Cod is laughable at most when coming from KZ3 to it. Sorry its nothing like it. Guys from cod come to play and go 3/25 kdr, but go back to cod and they are at the top of the board lol.

Isn't there a demo? maybe not mp demo but you can try the sp demo to see how it plays if you've never experienced killzone before. Just a thought. Or maybe rent it? Then if you like it, amazon has had the Helghast edition (collections edition) on sale for $40 on and off. I thought the game was okay, but have almost bought the Helghast edition just for the helmet and sniper statue :P

Yea, I have the Master Chief helmet from the Halo 3 legendary edition. It's pretty useless but now I feel he needs a friend and a helghast helmet would do nicely :)

I think it's great, I love Guerrilla Warfare. Even though they took out some things, I actually found it more addicting than 2.

good game that just falls short of excellence, I mean no cutom lobbies?

Only 3 maps for the most fun play mode ?

Shocking map designs in parts

I much prefer the controls to KZ2, as in I dont feel like they're fighting against me, not as much rocket spamming. I just wish medics would do thier f******g jobs and revive people.
