I was wondering if LCD moniters/T.Vs are considered HD? And if so what type (720p 1080i)?

LCDs capable of 1920x1080 are "full HD"(1080p). the rest, the ones capable of only 1366x768 for example are limited to 720p/1080i.

Yes LCD TVs Are Capable of HD and depending on which type of Monitor you get it will be HD quilty Research before you get either i would reccomend and LCD HDTV which are becomeing farely cheap nowadays so ya.

Thanks my moniter runs at  1440 by 900 is that determined by my pc or is it capable of 1080p

you have to check if your lcd monitor is a HDCP monitor, if it is you only need a hdmi to dvi converter to connect your ps3 to your monitor.

Well 1080p is, as Devil pointed out, 1920x1080 and your moniter does 1400x900 (which is more than likely your native resolution, ie your max.)
So no, your moniter does not do 1080p.
