Is there a guide where I can read about the whole installation from start to end? Mgs_4All Linux distros are well documented. Check out Terrasofts YDL documentation. http://www.terrasoftsolutions.com/support/installation/
As far as I am aware PS3 Linux requires a HDTV to install. Also yes you can download Yellow Dog Linux for free. http://www.terrasoftsolutions.com/support/downloads/Thanks! Two more things, it reads "Your PS3 MUST HAVE an HDMI OR COMPONENT CABLE to your LCD or plasma HDTV", does that mean that I can't use a SDTV? And is it free?

As far as I know Fedora Linux is the only available version of Linux for PS3. I might be wrong there though.msharkiIncorrect; there are multiple versions of Linux for PS3.
When Linux is install can i remove it?kibritaYou need to repartition/format your drive when you install Linux or remove it. So make sure you back up your HDD before you install Linux so you can do a quick restore if you decide not to use it anymore.
i have linux on my ps3, message me if u ahev any more questions.
basically it has a better internet browser (mozilla), all instant messangers (all in one tite program only for linux), and you can download and install games from the internet (keeping in mind tat only 10 gb is alloted to the os, you can not run any GOOD games, but u can run low LOW powered games like minesweeper and solitaire... ya that low)
www.streammygame.com is another reason... you mtie be interested in that.
also, ps1 emulator if u dont want to have to pay for them psn games >.>
Yellow Dog and Fedora are the only one's I've seen working in person.
I hope that Beryl works someday, that will be the day I install it.
Linux is really cool, you basically won't need your computer anymore if you have enough memory and don't need to burn anything.
There are places everywhere online for installing it. heck, try youtubing it.
