Aren't you like 13 years old? How can this game be kiddy if you're only a kid? Besides that, I would say play the demo first before buying it.

No, it's a fantastic game for all ages, although the three tier thing can cause problems with people who are just starting out with games and with poorly designed levels. The only thing that makes me sad is that LittleBigPlanet had all these promises, all this potential, and it just sort of fizzled. We got crappy paid costume after crappy paid costume, the odd $2-$5 sticker/item pack, and an admittedly awesome Metal Gear Solid level pack. There are good levels designed by other people but it's still more awkward to search and find them that it should be, it took ages before anyone could even search at all. What they need to do is release more packs in the vein of the Metal Gear Solid one, with professionally designed levels.

You playing M games doesn't make you an adult if you're 13... it just means your parents are more lenient than others, which can be a good or bad thing.

Not really. If you can get over Sackboy's 'cuteness' then you won't have any problems with the rest of the game.

yah it is pretty sad, i can't believe people can't admit its a kiddy game, i mean if this isn't a kiddy game then what on gods green earth would be considered a kiddy game....thats what i thought, case closed. the bottom line is that the people saying its NOT a kiddy game, are just afraid to admit it because they don't want to be considered "kiddy" themselves. p.s. being a kiddy game has NOTHING to do with a game being playable or mildly entertaining. however it can play a part in distraction and immersion...sackboy??? lol distraction and immersion problems here, i mean at least rachet and clank could be considered real in a sense, there's not even a story behind being a sackboy other than oh look how "cute"

Just because the characters are cute does not make the game "Kiddy". Kiddy would be Cars, The Lego games, any type of kids game. If you think about it LBP is actually very advanced with level of depth and creation. Yes kids/families can play the game but I would not consider it kiddy.

I avoid most "kiddy" games, but somehow LBP did not annoy me at all. It is more psychedelic and abstract, like a bizzare dream almost. Very cool game.

I'm a little older than you and love the game, it would be fun for your kid too. It does get difficult later on. But if your so inclined you can make levels for your kid.

the level editor is one of the greatest tools I've seen in my years of gaming

What does that have to do with anything? You're probably not even in high school. Stop trying to act older than you are and have fun with your life. Now, to answer your question, no it's not. It's the type of game that everyone can pick up and play, but there's no way a "kid" can manage to make full use of the creation tools.

ok, threads like this just make me sick. Seriously? Too Kiddie? I'm sorry but no game should ever be considered Kiddie at all. If its fun to play who the hell cares? Oh now, it doesn't have guns, guts and explosions, it must be for teh three year olds. But its probably more fun than any Shooter you've played. I'll take a Mario game over MW2 any day of the week. Why? Because they are more fun to me? and for the record I am 28 years old.

yes and no because there are a lot of kiddy like elements but the designing levels and stuff is definatly not too kiddy. it is fun for all ages but i wouldnt recommend playing it alone because when i bought it, i playing it alone and i really didnt like it much but when got some friends together play it with, it was fantastic. overall i'd recommend getting it IF you are going to play it online or with friends.

they designed the level editor so that anyone can use it, so if someone can play the game then someone can easily make a level. these kids that can't are the same kids that have trouble holding a can of soda or keeping the markers off their faces and clothes. now of course the level of skill with using the editor varies, but it is clearly designed....with video tutorials i might add, so that anyone who is capable of following directions may use to some degree, so in the case thats been brought up, the most likely answer is that those kids are just to kiddy to use them which has nothing to do with the editor being designed for 40 year olds or something. however with that being said i can see how parents might get into helping with creating levels and such for their children, but that doesn't make this game any less kiddish. and just because older people might play and enjoy the game....again has NOTHING to do with a game being kiddish or not. clearly people need to look the word up and find out what we are actually talking about here. some people don't like playing kiddish games period, and with that being said those people should easily be able to figuer out if this game is to their liking or not by watching a few video's or playing the demo p.s. stickers anyone? lol kids....

I don't see what is "kiddy" about this game. Yeah, there's no gore, violence and strong language, but does that mean that racing games, R&C, and Mario are "kiddy"? No. What about Rock Band and Guitar Hero? Anyone can pick up and play those games without a problem.

Here's the definition of "childish" according tho Merriam-Webster: marked by or suggestive of immaturity and lack of poise; lacking complexity

This game in fact is complex, and is relatively mature. I actually find the community to be alot more mature than the 12 and 13 year olds who play COD, cussing and acting all tough.

Game is rated E for "Everyone", OP. Not TK for "Teh Kiddy". Lacking gore and violence doesn't make a game childish or kiddy.

Right. Define 'kiddy'. For me, it's something like UP, or Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - something which is easy, aesthetically pleasing for kids and without mature elements such as sex, drugs, violence etc LittleBigPlanets enviroment is not 'kiddy'. It's a style. The style in this case being hand drawn/hand rendered - everyday things. It has nothing to do with kids. And Lantern says he/she plays it and he's 21, therefore proving straight away it's not a 'kiddy' game because adults play it, and not just lantern but every person in this thread almost. And it IS a must-buy if you like that sort of game. It's in the top 3 of it's sort. Now go play your hardcore shooters.

The game is primarily a level creator, and only the most brightest, creative and tenacious people really excel at this game. This is the main reason why this game should not even be recommended for kids, they'll get bored real quick, unless they are higly intelligent and create awesome levels.
