Well I haven't played Madden but I have played NCAA and I assume they run similarly since they're both supposed to be at 30fps. The only difference I heard was the fps and 30fps is not terrible. NCAA runs smooth. I disagree with Sanchez that the game is "arcade style" but I've already had this argument with like 15 other people so I won't get into that again.
IMO, it's still a great football game, and the reviews agree.
i rented it and the graphics were ok amd the 30fps isnt really slow but it's not 60fps.but this year is way more harder then any other year really hard to pass and both teams are always coughing the ball up like 3-4 times a game.but it has a lot of good stuff but alot of bad.i dont know if i would buy it though.deon99
when you throw into coverage you shouldn't make a catch all the time. As far as the fumbles I think they want you to use R1 to cover up if you think you're going to take a big hit that could cause a fumble. My first game of NCAA I had 4 fumbles in the first quarter but since I've been doing conscious of covering up (like a real running back always is) I've had tons of games with no fumbles and a few with one or two.
Define good buy. WOuld you consider full price for a game with frame issues unique to PS3 a good buy? It's a really subjective question. Speaking personally, I couldn't forgive myself for paying 65 bucks for a game with so many issues. Key example of a problem with the game:
When you hit x to hike the ball there is a delay between the actual hiking of the ball. So if you hit x again you'll find yourself throwing to a reciever you didn't intend to because you were trying to hike the ball. That's just one problem derived from the freezes and framerate issues.

You sure you're everyone is lined up while you're trying to snap the ball the first time? NCAA doesn't have that problem with a delay, but after calling a hot route or when you first walk up to the line, you need to wait.
Overall, Madden 08 for PS3 is a great game. Just dont play the XBOX 360 version because the diference is amazing Imo!! I own both consoles and have Madden for both and the 360 version is much more polished. It looks better, runs faster and just feels tighter overall. Hopefully Madden 2009 for PS3 will be on atleast equal footing with the 360 version. I only buy so mnay games per year and MAdden is alays one of them. Lke I said, if you dont play the 360 version, you likely wont even notice the differences! Still a great game overall though.
Madden 08 on 360...9
Madden 08 on PS3...8

One new thing to both Madden and NCAA this year is that there are plays with predetermined motion (WR's and RB's)... by pressing hike the WR or running back goes in motion as the play calls and the computer automatically hikes the ball. If you press x while the guy is in motion, then you can find yourself trhowing to the TE like you said. Just remember... you only need topress x once.
I personally love this game, far and away the best Madden in a long long while. If you are a fan of football, then in my opinion it's a must have. Of course I am not a nit-picky whiny baby like most seem to be in here. Neither is my buddy who owns it for 360, and he says he doesn't notice the difference (other than he's not used the controlller).

I have the PS3 version of Madden 08, I've never had that problem, and I just finished my 78th full game, maybe you are doing something wrong?

C'mon man! I own both consoles and own the game for both and to me the difference is fairly significant. The 360 version sports much better textures, better lighting, better control and plays alot faster than the PS3 version. Whats up with the blury look after plays on the PS3 version? Its not there on the 360 version! I guess I have to ask you what kind of HDTV you are playing on because if you cant see the difference between the two, the you must be playing on a SDTV or something!!!Please Log In to post.
