I have been thinking about getting Madden and I am a football fan but I would just like some feedback from those that have the game. I have some great things about it and some not so great things so I am just seeing what you guys think. Thanks

I prefer NCAA to MAdden because I like the recruiting aspect and being able to choose between 117+ teams ... as to where in Madden, you draft and manage finances and play the same game over and over, playoffs, Super Bowl - Repeat

Give me Bowl Games and the possibility of losing to the CPU (Heisman jacked up) - A lot more variety in NCAA

This year's Madden features a new playcalling system that sucks ( you can change it, but it shouldn't have been changed int he first place )

- MAdden also has unbelievably bad blocking AI and pass defense ... NCAA made improvments on ALL of the above ...

If you want a TRUE football experience, get NCAA 11

IMO it is a NO NO NO Just go and get madden 10 for 5 bucks, same exact game, you just don't need to pay 60 bucks for a stupid roster update.

Madden isn't for me. I'm in the UK so it's football (soccer) for me. FIFA 11 all the way.

I say "no." But I'm going to be honest with you: despite being a football fan, I'm a big madden hater, primarily because it's a cash-cow series with little-to-no alteration between its yearly versions... The most recent game itself could be pretty good "game-play" wise, but my burning rage toward the series has left me blind to such a possibility :P

Even with the NFL exclusive license their sales took a big drop last year. People are frustrated with the game play year after year. It's only for the "Madden Heads" and little kids mostly buying it. Some people give in and buy the game and then they are upset within a week that they ever bought the game. So be glad you have your money in your pocket instead of supporting a money hungry monopoly forcing your hand telling you what to by as if we do not live in a free country.

If you read the Gamespot review, it's reviewed as the best Madden yet. It does have the best graphics we've ever seen in a Madden release. Also, I feel that they have made improvements to the AI. I have yet to see the stupid mistake of having 2 receivers running in to one another on a crossing route.

But is it THAT much better than Madden 10? Honestly not really. Don't get me wrong I still find it really fun, but some things I don't like. They introduced this new playcalling system called "Gameflow." I honestly hate it. I was playing against one of my friends and this new feature takes ALL of the thinking out of the game. It's like you don't actually even beat your opponents, you just get lucky. I think it's dumb.

Other than that though I really like the game. At the end of the day it's personal choice. But I'd ask yourself these questions: What is the last Madden you own? Do you want to play online? Are the single player modes really really important? If your answers to the last 2 are no and yes respectively, I'd recommend NCAA over Madden.

It's a buy every few years, but not every year.

Madden 09 and 11 are the ones that are worth buying this gen.

No buy, for anything EA since the exclusive rights for the NFL. No competiton means you will never get the best product only one dev coming up with ideas and no reason to.

Well I think that's partially because people don't buy other non-NFL football games out there (Blitz the League anyone?) Maybe if people started buying other football games, EA would actually get off their asses and do something.
