see i personally love the commercials and laugh everytime they come on. I could quote them all day too. But there's always going to be the party poopers and want to ruin it for everyone else..just a sad part of the world..just take a look around you'll see what i meanThere's always people who like and people who hate, Marcus is helping psp, and Kevin is helping both psp and ps3
i don't see how he is hurting the image of the psp, those commericals are pretty funny and any publicity is good publicity and besides its better than what microsoft is doing with kinect "having justin bieber advertise it"
I still like "PSP. It's like a nut...you can play with outside.".
mastershakez
lol. yeah i remember that! Hillarious!
I actually like Marcus to a certain degree. I think his "Marcus Don't Play That" commercial with the hold down the button app is hilarious. What I can't stand, and what I was referring to in my blog, is when he starts going off about how, "It's teh ownlee sistim fo teh 1334, yo." The PSP has a severe lack of game coming out for it right now, and rather small library of good ones at the moment. Especially when compared to the DS's massive library of quality titles. I love Sony. I just don't think they should go around making stupid claims like, "Our portable is the best," when they really don't have the stats to support it.nintendo-nautWell how else do you want them to advertise? "Yeah we're not as good as the DS but still buy it please."

They advertise all the cool things the DSi can do and not once do they ever make claims to be better or worse than another company.
Coolyfett says Mr Marcus is doing just fine. He is human being with a personality. Personality many gamers are afraid of, personality many gamers do not want affiliated with video games, because gamers feel they own the media genre of video games. Newsflash the INDUSTRY controls video games not the gamer. Marcus is just doing his job Sony hired him to do & that is promote a product. In 4 months it will be 2011, it is amazing how much hatred minorities still get in this country. 2011 PEOPLE.
How true. If anything, we should be angry at Sony, they picked the actor, and the actor's personality is part of the deal. If that's Marcus' personality, then so be it. Sony shouldn't have picked him for a video game console marketing campaign.Coolyfett says Mr Marcus is doing just fine. He is human being with a personality. If this was the commercial btw, I think it'd be even funnier
I can't believe you forgot pokemon
Anyway, I think he would be less annoying if he was shown actually playing a good game. None of this "waste of my time" garbageo game.
Sony's advertising is always this way these days, it comes across as really immature and a little insecure to be honest. I don't know why they can't just make a normal ad showing everything they bring to the table with out having to bring up their competitors, it just feels like they are aiming their products at the male 13-21 age bracket only and Im not gonna lie it does put me off their products.
I think the PS3's ad campaign, "It only does everything" would work well for the PSP. The PS3 can do a lot of the cool things that the PS3 can(to a lesser degree), and I think Sony should emphasize that their system is unparalleled when it comes to media playing.
I know that Marcus was not met with the same reception as Kevin Butler.

If they think that Marcus actually makes people want to buy it... then I'm not so sure I want to be associated with PSP anymore.
Coolyfett wonders what the outrage would be if Elton John or Neil Patrick Harris was to do a PSP ad. Coolyfett would love to see what gamers would say if The Pope or Louis Farakhan was a PSP gamer? The PSP was made for Human beings to enjoy. Coolyfett has no issue with any human being promoting the device and non have the ability to give the device a bad IMAGE only Sony can do that. Peace & Love.CoolyfettNintendoNaut wonders why Coolyfett creepily addresses himself in the 3rd person.

It always does that.
As for marcus, It's just a transparent attempt at appealing to a younger demographic. Yeah bro I'm chill see how I got my hat on backwards.
I think the kid is hilarious. He was also the voice for Little Desmond for the Kobe and LeBron MVP commercials. I think he's a stand-up comic, which is pretty impressive at such a young age. The latest PSP commercial that bags on the iPhone was a crack-up!
He's a talented kid.
So no. I don't think he's hurting the PSP. The PSP was already struggling and almost dead in North American long before Marcus.
I think that Sony should allow Marcus to speak the truth, instead of making him out to be a street hustler. The fast talk and superfluous wise-cracks while not actually showing anything real about the PSP smacks of dudes in the train station trying to covertly sell gold chains wrapped up in tissue paper... It's hucksterism, and it feels like a lie. Like you're being set up, marked. And by the way, showing a PSPGo while throwing the statement "Over 500 titles in the library" doesn't help those feelings. It's true for the PSP, but certainly a lie for the Go.
The actor who plays Marcus is obviously a major talent at his age or any other. I don't mean my above statements to reflect anything about him, I just think that the company he represents could be more accurate, shall we say, in their promotions.
I don't personally liked them, to me it's being aimed at younger audience and that's not what I'm looking for in handheld gaming experience.
If PSP didn't had the likes of GT, Crisis Core, Metal Gear, God of War and now Persona I would had stop using it aged ago.
I hope hardcore titles don't disappear, if I want to game casually, I'll do so on my Android Smart phone...
