Is Metal Gar Solid really over?

Because I just finished 4 and its like...WOW, awesome game. So we will never see snake again i guess?

Seems like it, but I hope they make the prequel, like what happened after mgs 3 and before 4, that would be awesome. But doubt it happens.

It is and i think it should be... MGS 4 was a fitting ending for a masterpiece series... i wouldn't mind a remake of the old ones... or a new saga and lead character.

The Solid series is most likely over. If they make a new Metal Gear Solid it could very well be under a new title like Metal Gear Retribution or Metal Gear "whatever they deem fit to put here". I still think they really need to find a way to incorporate David Hayter. He's definately one of the few top notch english voice actors. Maybe they make a new clone of Big Boss and the cycle repeats itself. Don't like the idea though of doing the original Metal Gear's from MSX though as we pretty much knows what happens. I want to be kept out of the loop for as long as possible, thats whats made the Metal Gear Solid series so speecial to me.

"Solid" in Metal Gear Solid doesn't refer to Solid Snake. It stands for "3D".

I think I might have read this on gamespot, but theres some story where Konami got a trademark made for the title "Metal Gear Existence"

In any case, I'm pretty sure that Metal Gear is not over. They should do something with Raiden again, but you need to be able to use the sword from the end of a playthrough.

Sucks beating Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons Of Liberty and not being able to use the sword again.

My friend thinks they will use Sunny from MGS4 for a new main character hehe.

MGS4 was a pretty fitting conclusion to the franchise. Personally, I don't want to see another MGS game because it's done. Let it go. But if Kojima makes a new game altogether, I'm all over it.

We will see more Metal Gear games, I wouldn't be surprised if MGS5 is announced soon. But it's unlikely we will see Snake again, it'll probably have a new main character.

Curiously, I noticed something funny during one of the cutscenes... just before the motorbike section, you know where I mean. And they're explaining how violent games are desensitizing children to the horrors of war, thus making them easier to later recruit into PMCs and such and such. And as an example, a column of images of games scrolls up the side of the screen. of examples of violent video games, and they're all the Metal Gear series, in chronological order.

Funny thing is, after Guns Of The Patriots, there are two blank spaces, reading 'Under Construction' or something... is that a hint? ;)

This is one series that had the courage to end it. And man, what a brilliant ending that was.

Now, a game set in the same universe would be welcomed,and i'm sure they would not make one unless the have a very good ideea, and considering their track record, it will be nothing short of brilliant.

Remake the original playstation one verison of metal gear solid. With the same voice actos and same lines...cause i dont want another corny as remake like what came out for the gamecube

i hope it is over,MGS4is such a great game...and to me itis the perfect farewell for the legend of "Snake". The thing i cant get my head around is how can there be a newMGS game without the cool voice of Snake and he's trademark scream of death "AAAAAHHHHHH"lol.

and also other characters Screams of shock "Snake, Sna-... Snake do you read me...SNNNAAAAAAKKKEEEE!!!"

IMO, theyshould just make another part of he's life.

I read somewhere that Kojima last metal gear would be this but he says this won't be the last metal gear as his looking for someone to take over his position and continue what he has done. Could my mistake.

I agree! Unless they make another prequel.

I don't think that the metal gear franchise is dead.

I imagine some half done spin offs will come or maybe a decent prequil. I doubt anything epic though.
