If you consider all its aspect, such as graphic, music, gameplay, presentation, level of polish etc, is it a worthy candidate as the best game ever made?

Hell. No.
I love the series, don't get me wrong, but the game is far from perfect. FAR.
Absolutely not. It's not even the best in the franchise but definitely a great game and one of the best on PS3.
No ... It is a good game, but far from "best game ever." Like previous comments have stated, there are good things about the game and there are bad things about the game. The story is good, the graphics are good, the gameplay is good. Overall, there are problems with the game just like any other game. Don't get me wrong, I loved MGS4 when I played it but like everyone else, I moved on. lol!

This is easy, an absolute YES. It has what many franchises lack, the total package.
The many who hate on the game are the same ones who love other games that act like movies like Uncharted for instance. Talk about double standards.
I think it is, but it seems to me that such a title is a very personal thing and can differ from person to person. I'd believe that no rational, reasonable person could call it a bad game though. Thus I think it can easily be a candidate for being understood as an amazing game.

Sorry, but wrong. Unlike MGS4 the Uncharted series actually has more gameplay than cutscenes, and no cutscenes longer than a few minutes. Actually there's probably more total cutscene time in MGS4 then in the entire Uncharted series combined.
Although I loved the game and series to death, I think it's in a much too niche category to be considered as a best game ever candidate (as subjective as that title sounds). One of the main disappointments I had with it was the incredibly short length in relation to the previous entries in the series. Story, gameplay, graphics, etc. was top notch though.

There is nothing wrong with having a lot of cutscenes in a game, especially when you have a story as deep and intricated as MGS. You can just skip them on other playthroughs anyway so it's not as big a deal as some people make it out to be. Uncharted is a cliche, bland, Gears of War mimic that does nothing new and is hyped to ****.
We have a winner! MGS3>Peace Walker>MGS>MGS2>MGs4=Portable Ops. I found the story to be weak in MGS4, and the awful pacing completely destroys the flow of gameplay. No, the story was awful and dragged on and on. MGS3 is way better.

There's nothing wrong with having a lot of cutscenes, no. But when those cutscenes go on for half an hour, and when they take up more of the game than the actual gameplay it's a problem. Kojima and crew seemed to have forgotten that they were making a game. Your statement about Uncharted is completely irrelevant to the point being discussed.
BTW: congratulations on inventing a new word with "intricated".

He never said "perfect" he said best game ever.. yes.. it would be a worthy candidate.. would it win. no. but it would be worthy of candidacy if there were some kind of vote..No. You've got to play more games if you'd call MGS4 one of the best of all time. It wasn't even the best MGS.
This is the EXACT thing I came in here to post. -great game -but not being best in its own series = out of consideration for best game everAbsolutely not. It's not even the best in the franchise but definitely a great game and one of the best on PS3.

Nope... its like a moviePurpleSmileIt's weird because I don't remember being handed a controller when I last saw an actual film. Sorry, but this argument is stupid. Yes it has cutscenes but that doesn't make a damn movie. Do the menus in DVDs make it a game? No it doesn't.
