Biggest mistake of your life. I agree 100% on your statement. Just because it is not FPS you wont get one of the greatest games. But by you asking if MGS4 is FPS I take it you have not played any of the other games. At least rent it.
Don't listen to these guys, don't get it, at least not yet. It's a great game, and series, but if you've never played the others ( obviously you have not) then dont skip ahead. If you buy this game without playing the others, then you made a big mistake. I don't think you'll be interested though.

I played this game before the others. I went along fine...because I played the others after I played MGS4. But seriously, I don't blame TC for having eh...I wouldn't say bad...maybe "lacking" good taste in games. There's more to video games than mindless shooters that get repetitive, though. The old man in the boxart isn't some old geezer, it's an awesome, heroic, and badass old geezer.
That's not a good excuse dude. Look at the 15 gameplay video on PSN or look online. It's really fun and to dismiss it because it isn't an FPS is ignorant.
