my ps3 used to get like 2-3 mbps, now it gets:

download speed: .78mb/s

upload speed: .12 mb/s

this is weird, seeing as my network says i have 8000kbps download and 512k upload.although my network is shared with 4 people and 2 roomates, this shouldnt be happening.......or is it?

That's awful slow - I'd be surprised if anything would run at that speed. Try unplugging your modem and router, then plugging the modem back in, wait for it to boot up for a few minutes, then plug your router back in. See if that restores the speed back to normal levels.

Depends on what the other 6 people are doing on your connection. I mean if they are downloading stuff at the same time you're trying to play, you are not going to get a good transfer rate. I stopped with wireless recently, used to have disconnection issues, but no longer.
