okay so this very well could just be me overreacting. Technology sometimes hiccups and it has nothing to do with your machine failing. So tday I was playing Resident Evil 5 and I started encountering small hiccups in the gameplay. The screen froze once, kept going, and then froze again. The second time, my PS3 shut off and the red light come on and started blinking. It pressed it once and it went into power save mode. I let it sit for a minute and then restarted it and kept playing. It worked fine after that...So my PS3 could have just had a quick wire problem (I did check all the wires) or it could have just been a small tech glitch that could happen to even a brand new system. The only reason I am freaking out is that my PS3 was purchased brand new in the summer of 2007, so almost two and a half years ago. Plus, I had some freezing problems a little while back, but that was really just with Heavenly Sword and they stopped after a little bit. So should I be worried about this, or do you think it's not a big deal?

Maybe the power of your house went low for a second or two?

Personally, I think it sounds like an overheating issue. How well ventilated is your PS3? Have you ever cleaned out the vents?

It's probably just overheating. I've had my ps3 about a year and I've had a good 10 freeze ups or so, some games are more prone to it than others (fallout 3 did for me quite a bit).
