I was just wondering what your thoughts are on PoP. Was it fun? Was it worth the money?

I still need to try this game out... I might rent it with Fallout 3 but I don't know... I don't like renting games, lol.
I don't like renting games because other people touched it :P I'm weird like that.I still need to try this game out... I might rent it with Fallout 3 but I don't know... I don't like renting games, lol.

Flame_Blade88
lol, Exactly.
I'm the same about used games, too.
If you liked the old ones it is a huge step backwards for the series...The graphics are gorgeous but the game is super repetitive, the fighting is few and far between and only one on one fights, the fighting mechanics and combo system is no where near as good and complex as the fighting mechanics in the old one...the platforming is dull and there is alot of frustrating backtracking segments...all in all it is not a good game at all and totally ruins the franchise in my opinion luckily i only rented it because its not worth 60 dollars by any means

the game took out the fun 5 on 1 fights in favor of dull one on one fights that can either last 5 seconds (not exxagerating) or a few minutes....also you cant die in it at all you just go back to the last piece of flat ground you were on before you died if u fall or if u die in combat u simply just come back to life...and the prince just isnt as cool as he was in any of the old ones...the only thing worth anything in this game is the graphics because i do concede that they are gorgeous but other than that its just bad[QUOTE="Scianix-Black"][QUOTE="BlancoBX"]

But I agree the "combat" is atrocious. It's like a boring cinematic scene where you perform on move over and over against one generic foe. I got bored halfway through, I really should finish it.Storyline = a happy go lucky boy meets a serious can do princess and they engage in "witty" banter as they work together to prevent an ancient evil from entering the world.
Gameplay = the game plays itself while you sit back, relax, and enjoy watching the pretty animations.
Platforming is on auto pilot. You basically just have to point the prince in the right direction and he will perform impressive stunts for you without hardly any button input required. The whole game is a lot like playing through a long QTE. Even when fighting, the auto aiming system actually prevents you from moving around too much - you are just supposed to stand facing the correct direction, push a few buttons, and watch the prince do impressive combos on his own.
Its a perfect game for people who want to enjoy nice looking visuals and light platforming without having to worry about too much challenge.
The whole game is a lot like playing through a long QTE. SoloriThis is exactly how I've always described the game. Pretty much sums it up.

I don't like renting games because other people touched it :P I'm weird like that. i dont like renting games, but because i like to own games that i play rather than having it for few days. so i dont have problem with used games (rather, it has discount + EB games 10% discount card so i usually buy used games)[QUOTE="Flame_Blade88"][QUOTE="Scianix-Black"]I don't like renting games because other people touched it :P I'm weird like that. i dont like renting games, but because i like to own games that i play rather than having it for few days. so i dont have problem with used games (rather, it has discount + EB games 10% discount card so i usually buy used games)I still need to try this game out... I don't like renting games because other people touched it :P I'm weird like that. So, I hope you know the games that are new didn't just appear in the box without being touched by someone too.It was a decent game, but some of the puzzles were brain melting. I did like that you couldn't die though.I was just wondering what your thoughts are on PoP. Was it fun? Was it worth the money?
Takuzi
I loved PoP it was a really good game. not that much replay value but the game was a lot of fun for sure. I really wanted to play the DLC but I didn't buy it I only rented it so I didnt want to buy DLC for a game I only rented.
I enjoyed the story and characters a lot they were entertaining. The gameplay is fine and really captures the abandoned kingdom feel pretty well. You should at least give it a go.
