if your a hardcore gamer, you know what games you want...you know what the ps3 offers and you make your decision based off of that, rather than some one who has no idea what you like telling you yes or no.

Reading this and that you're a hardcore gamer just makes me think of those typical FPS dudes who think they're so elite and as soon as they die they MUST come with some lame excuse such as: SprayerN00b, AWPNoob, Mousescrewed you n00b. Look my bro, ps3 is the most balanced system out there, kind of like the combination of the wii and 360. you want rpgs and some adventure games u hav them, u want shooters and fps u hav them. its online is said to be inferior, but i can assure u everythin will change wen home comes. SOme of the best franchises of games are comin for the ps3, MGS4, KZ2, GT5, FF13, GOW3 so you arent gonna be dissapointed. I myslef know someone who owns a 360 and sometimes i just get tired of fps after fps, shoot, grenade, shoot, melee. Thats why ps3 offers everytime of game and more. So its upto u, but if your serious about gettin a ps3 than you'll hav to conduct your own research into the games.

I would definitely say it's gold. The worst thing about PS3 is the press; the stuff the news and magazines say about it. I've played hundreds of hours on all the next-gen consoles and I would definitely put the PS3 over its competition.

Dude get the ps3-40 gb (blue ray player tooo)for 399 and get Uncharted NOW, forget about AC, GET UNCHARTED, I played through it , IT IS AWESOME.
but it's a great system, Define hardcore gamer btw. is the Hardcore gamer the one who has played all the old games and still own all the systems and loving the hell out of Old School games. or is the Hardcore gamer the one picking up the new Wii game that comes out every .. 6th month or so? or maybe hardcore gamer is the guy who really plays the saaaaame game over and over again on the same system because he can't afford anything else... We will never know exactly what a hardcore gamer is
Dude just invest into a 60gig (mines coming in the mail tomorrow!) Think about it... what do you think is going to be holding up inanother 2-4 years? Exactly. Sony may be late to the party, but doesn't they're always willing to cater to the gamers. M$ will nickel and dime, Wii will do their own thing, and PS3 will find any way to make sure you're happy with your purchase for a long time. Look at the ps2, still making games and keeping owners happy. Where's XBOX? Where's GAMECUBE?
