I was planning to buy a ps3 in march. So is ps3 has any problems like xbox had? Is it safe?

I have NEVER had a tech issue with my 80 Gig.
Just don't feed it after midnight, or throw it in the water...
every piece of hardware that has ever been created has had a chance of failure, even the PS3. however, the problems are nothing like the RROD of the 360. Go for it, not many PS3's have broken down.
No, the PS3s are not safe. They are deadly. I lost an uncle to one.

i changed my mind. this^ :P
It's very stable and safe.
I personally have 3 PS3's. Family, Cousin and Myself. I have original 60GB, newer 40GB and PS3 Slim in excellent working conditions. Take care of the system and your money are well spent.
I got my PS3 in 2007, I actually got it from Best Buy with a warranty. I didnt take care of it, I let it get dusty and I actually got dust inside the machince. It wouldnt read disk, but with the warranty I got a brand new one. Other than me being a dumbass, I have not had any problems. I just recomment the warranty just in case. Plus do you really want to play the 360 with all the glitches that have been coming out. You cant even play modern warfare 2 or boarderlands online anymore with out something crazy going on.
Well you might not want to leave your lunch around it because if you get one of the older systems they're all fat so they might eat your meal. The newer PS3's are all slim so that they're starving so they'll eat your meal. Either way your lunch isn't safe.I was planning to buy a ps3 in march. So is ps3 has any problems like xbox had? There pretty reliable. My launch title 60 gb died in december. And that was because i turned it off by hitting the power supply switch (yes i know that was a dumb ass move) but it ran like a champ for 3 years.
^^^ahh damn it i was going to go for a condom joke..
But seriously most electrical appliances fail because they overheat and the slim runs even cooler than its predecessor which didn't have any heating problems to start with, just keep it clean and in a reasonably ventilated area and you should be fine
