I enjoyed it, the story had a theme, there was a plot, there was some characterization and the gameplay was fun.
Don't expect anything extremely funny as from the other GTA games though.
Certainly not overrated at all. Now if you were talking about Halo: Reach, then I would say hell yes!
It was good but it should be an 8.5.
it was a good but flawed game. but since it received overwhelmingly great scores i would say, yea, it's definitely overrated.
Yeah, I think it's overrated. I thought it was a very good game and I spent about 50 hours with it, but I didn't think it was as super-fantastic as most people say. Personally I'd give it a good solid 8.5 instead of the 9.5 Gamespot gave it.
Though I'm definitely looking forward to the zombie DLC
GOTY mark my words. DevilishStyles
Agreed with this statement' it gets my vote for one of the best games so far for 2010
I love GTA (minus the dissapointing GTAIV).
This game is over-rated. I got bored of the missions very quickly. It is like GTA except half the fun. The riding of the horse gets old. The chracters aren't entertaining. I just got bored of it and think I will trade it in before I finish it.
Game is amazing don't listen to those who dislike it. Everything you could want and more. GOTY top choice definately
I have only played the single player. But even tough it sometimes rely to much on it's long cut scenes to explain the story I had a lot of fun with the game. A lot is happening and I felt like this was a more living world than GTA4 for example.
The horse isn't really there to provide the "fun" as such, it just adds to the atmosphere and feeling of the game and the time it is set in. If you like a game that has a good setting, is atmospheric and makes you feel like you're really there (fallout 3 for example) then get it. If you game more for the "fun" side, such as instantly gratifying fast paced arcade games (kind of like GTA which is what sets them apart) then maybe you'll feel like Nightrain76I love GTA (minus the dissapointing GTAIV).

It's a really great game if you've any interest in westerns. You'll really enjoy the environment and the whole atmosphere, the guns are really cool because the type of weapons haven't been featured in any other game before beside other western games. The multiplayer is a ton of fun as well, so it's worth a definite buy.
Meh tooooI can't wait until the zombie pack.
It's gonna be AWESOME.

Depends if you like westerns, for me just riding around on a horse with a gun by my side while wearing a poncho through a beutiful world was enough for me to fall in love with this game. I have a friend who couldnt care less about all of that and he thinks the game is highly overatted. hope this helps, I love the game though, multi can get boring after 5-6hours though.
It had probably, the best story Rockstar has ever crafted, but I felt everything less was lacking compared to the GTA series. It's unfortunate that Rockstar has taken a more serious approach to their games this gen because I REALLY loved San Andreas and Vice City for it's wackiness and pure unadulterated fun. I mean honestly, you can go around in a gimp suit beating up old ladies with a pink ***** for Christ sakes!
i think pretty much every game that rockstar puts out lately is overrated. i thought the other red dead was better and i also thought last gens gta's were WAY better than the current. They keep getting unwarranted high scores in my opinion. Perhaps they have some sort of deal going with the folks here at GS. Theyre all kind of the same to me, so maybe you should take my 2 cents with a grain of salt. The last game that rockstar made that impressed me was manhunt.
