Hey all, I'm gonna be getting a Vita in November (the AC bundle) and will also be getting Uncharted with it. I'm thinking of also getting Resistance but at the same time I don't want to get something that's really not worth getting. Basically, what are your opinions on it? The COD for the PSV is also being developed by the same devs that did Resistance, so if Resistance is that bad then hopefully they'll at least be able to make a good enough carbon copy of COD to fill my FPS desire on a handheld.

Thanks for any info/opinions.

Oh and you really should check out Unit 13. It's an underappreaciated game. It's cheap and a good Third Person Shooter. Check my latest blog entry about what I think about it.

If you like Resistance, you should enjoy it. I just got the Platinum on it yesterday (it's an easy Plat). I actually liked it a bit better than R2 due to the weapon wheel. Online is fun enough. I suppose the COD game might be "better" but Burning Skies will be a lot cheaper than it, plus COD has no Auger! lol. The controls work well, the story isn't great, but the weapons are fun as always to take down Chimera.

The only COD I bought was Black Ops and will skip BO2, but I'm thinking about Declassified since the Vita works really well for FPS.

Played 10 minutes just now. Graphics Are "okay". Nothing special and better in Unit 13. Sound for weapons and stuff is just flat out horrible lol. intro story starts out decent, but once your playing it's not that great. Controls seem fine though. Will play more later.

There's a (3GB) demo, so you should feel free to see what you think of that before going out and making a purchase. Personally, I thought the gunplay was very fun, and the touch-based secondary fire worked suprisingly well. Everything around the shooting, though, like the AI, levell design, audio, and graphics, was a bit of a letdown. Actually, no. It was a major letdown.

the same here i'm a huge resistance fan 2 and 3 where awesome.

but the vita version just doesn't feel like a resistance. its more like a 1999 fps.. with chimera baddies.

and I'm not talking about the good shooters more like the generic ones, that you don't remember.

and for the love of it i pushed and pushed but couldn't bring my self to finishing it. gun play is good... but that's about it.

gues i'll have to wait for killzone. becouse cod is made by the same idiots.

Killzone's looking very promising. Not a lot of the bigger franchise games on the Vita are developed by the original developers, but Guerrilla Games are actually developing this one. There's no doubt it'll be good, but the big question is whether it's running at native res. Here's hoping...

It's not 100% true. Cambridge Studio is actually making it, they're just a part of GG now. So yeah it's GG, but not the entire GG team, but instead Cambridge.

The single player was a bit of a letdown and it's hard to go back to replay it in a harder difficulty because you can't skip cutscenes. Also since you can platinum trophy it in one play through, there no reason to come back to it The online is pretty fun but it's kind of dead now. Even if it wasn't the maximum level you can go up to is 40 so once I did that I kind of stopped playing it. It least It controlled well. ;(

Ah, I didn't know Cambridge had been restructured. I looked it up, and the reports say, "[Cambridge Studio] ...will now work closely with Guerrilla Games to release a Killzone title on Vita." It sounds like Guerrilla Games will still be involved quite a bit, though. Either way, both studios are pretty talented, and I'm hoping the people from Cambridge Studio can help improve the story/writing, which has traditionally been terrible since Killzone 2.

Well after all the feedback I'm thinking I'll try the demo first, but may just end up waiting to see how COD is (granted, not a big COD fan, but the style of gameplay does fit a handheld). At least I'll have Uncharted to start off with to use the dual analog sticks for a shooter and I'll be looking more into Unit 13. Hopefully AC will be the same length as the console versions so it should keep me busy as I look into what other games I'll be getting.

True. I personally think it's somewhat similar to how MM helped out with LBP Vita. They won't make it themselves, but be there to help out and make sure things Are done right.

I'd argue that the involvement would be a little more than Media Molecule's, simply because they're in the same building.

It's not terrible, it just isn't good and it doesn't meet to the current standards of FPS games today.

Its nothing spectacular. most of its problems stem from poor visuals and repetitive encounters. I mean moreso than most FPS games. worth $20 at most.

Having finished half the game or so I believe it's an alright playable FPS. It's not great, but worth it if you can find it cheap enough.

its average at best, the single player is somewhat fun no complaints there. but multiplayer was left to die by the devs, its glitchy/laggy. doesn't have basic things like minimap.
