Hello, last year everyone was talkin about how ridiculously fun red dead redemption was so i got it, while the story itself and characters were good, i kinda gOt bored since most of the game was riding your horse and sometimes shoot bad guys (zombies were a lot harder and fun) anyways, is skyrim the same or are there like actual stuff to do other than walk around lookin at the landscape? Like the bar mini games in rdr or pretty much everythig in sants row series

skyrim is more of that simple fun where time passes and you don't really notice. there is actual measurable content, like at least 100 quests. the setting wants to be explored. it can be addicting for some people.

red dead redemption i would say is not really "fun" but you sort of have to make it fun with your own effort. there is potential to have fun in rdr but you have to apply yourself to it, and for some people the setting can be sort of boring and depressing.

Skyrim is fun but also very time consuming. You have to do the (well-made) side quests though to experience the true story. Red Dead Redemption was fun too imo but I'm one who likes the vast open-world/sandbox type games. I loved messing around in RDR trying to kill as many Grizzly Bears as I could before getting owned.

It's fun as long as you haven't already played Oblivion.

I got it, played it for a while, and then got bored of it and deleted it off my harddrive. It's just Oblivion with nicer graphics.

So I guess if you haven't already played Oblivion, Skyrim will feel fresh, new and original. But I used to play Oblivion a lot, and got bored of it. Skyrim isn't that different from Oblivion, so there's no reason for me to play it.

Fun is apart of the Skyrim experience but for me personally it's more about the feeling of really being in that world and interacting with it.

Skyrim is fun but gets highly repetitive fast.

No, the high reviews are actually lies and this game is rubbish. :) Seriously though, It's extremely fun. A game with this high rating and reputation doesnt come around 'cos its got good lore and graphics. You'll spend hoouurrrss having fun.

I think you can't consider it fun...because it has no comedy or wha tso ever related. It's fun to play! Yes it is. But you have to be a bit patient and to rest every now and then or the game will start being repetitive. I'm on the first 5 hours and I'm loving it!

This is rubbish ... It is fun and if you CHOOSE to do the repetitive quests, then it can get repetitive ... there are tons of different quests to make it interesting and fun.

No all those millions of people who played it and spent hundreds of hours on it didn't do it for the fun, obviously.

To a point. The combat still needs a lot of work. I wouldn't say it's Demon's/Dark Souls fun...but still enjoyable.

It sounds like Skyrim would be a bore for you TC, it doesn't have quite as much dull wandering around as RDR, but it still has quite a bit.

Besides some of the glitches, Skyrim is a great game where you can never finish basically. You can do whatever you want, whenever you want. I have enjoyed it quite a bit myself.

Because I got bored with Oblivion and never finished it. And from what I gather, Skyrim is nothing more than Oblivion with better graphics.

Yea, and people say it's better than Dark Souls. I'm literally hooked to Dark Souls, New Game Plus right now, 140hrs in and it's even better the second time because there's sooo much to discover and do, plus finding rare and hard to find items. I enjoy Skyrim though also, haven't put enough time in to know if it's a masterpiece but it seems very much like most Bethesda RPG's.

Skyrim is not a game, it's more of a sandbox to mess around in. It has nice settings and all but the gameplay is incredibly dull and easy. It's amazing for role-playing, actually playing? not so much

skyrim is my first ES game. so far i really like it because i feel i have some true freedom, which not many games have these days. i wouldnt say i love the game to death like some people ive seen, but if you have time on your hands and want a game to last for awhile then i think skyrim is good.

It entirely depends on what you do in Skyrim and how you play the game. It can either be fun or a chore to play.

Amazing game, played it non-stop for a few weeks.

But it depends on what you enjoy personally. I enjoyed Red Dead R. a whole lot aswell. so yeah. try it or something. watch some gameplay on Youtube, then deceide for yourself.

People enjoy different things. Asking a bunch of random strangers if a game is fun is kind of silly.

Skyrim is a fantastic RPG with a ridiculous amount of content. That being said, most of that content is pretty shallow. Most quests have very little to no effect on your play through. Choices have absolutely no consequences. Combat is pretty cut and dry,Not much to it but spamming your right and left triggers. The main quest is pretty short, and doesn't quite stack up to other recent RPGs.

BUT

The thing that makes Skyrim great is the large world with nearly endless amounts of quests, locations, and items to find. I have around 140 hours over 4 different characters, and still play the game daily. Only one of those characters have been progressed passed the first mission in the main quest, and I'm not bored of it yet.

The ratings it was given were a bit exaggerated. I'd say the game is a 9/10 max right now. If you like massive games with lots of fredom to play however you want, Skyrim is probably the game for you. But if you want a game that's full of fantastic story telling, dialogue, meaningful quests and very few bugs... It's probably not for you.

Skyrim was my first ES game and I'll just say after It I will certainly be buying the next and probably dip into the Fallout series. Bethesda knows what there doing.

I bought it, and got tired after the first few missions. I may pick it up sometime down the road, but as of now it bores me to death. I love watching my brother play however, because he does nothing but run around cities looting and killing civilians. :P
