I've been looking at Socom: Confrontation as one of my three games to get for the Toys R Us deal. The gameplay videos here on GS dont really show much it seems. I've never played a Socom game before, although I was huge into BF2 a few years back. Is it like BF2? Anyone that played the beta or are Socom fans wanna offer up some advice? Is it worth shelling out the dough to get?
I too was in the beta, from september 5th to it's end yesterday. Although it had some issues, it was a really addicting game. No wonder they call it SOCRACK lol.
You bet your bum socom is worth it. Your getting the official bluetooth mic for PS3 for nothing at 59.99 which just regular games are, and if you don't want the mic for some dumb reason you get 20 dollars off socom at 39.99. Thats an awesome price but it's hard to pass up the MIC.
I was in the beta, and when it was running smooth it was a pretty fun game.

Hmm... If this is true, then maybe I should change my mind about not getting SOCOM. The footage hasn't interested me much. But if the gameplay is like Counter-Strike, then I think I would enjoy it. Decisions, decisions...
I think Confrontation gonna be good. atleast better than MGO. The bundle headset is a good deal and I've got $15 BestBuy Rewards save me some bucks. I'll pick it up for sure.
its slow paced tactical, great teamwork. if thats what you like get it. tons of gameplay modes, its one of those games that wont have to many respawn games its, they are mostly die and be dead till the next round, so teamwork is a must. if you get a good clan you will have hours of fun
socom, saints row 2, and dead space tomorrow, hope toys r us has them in stock. and socom is worth getting the beta was pretty fun hopefully they fix the issues.

I wish I could say I'm in to teamwork. But that is just not the case. This is what I orginally thought SOCOM would be about. So I'm going to revert to my old opinion and disregard what somesthetic said about it being like CS. Slow paced tactical just isn't my thing...
Maybe if I were in a clan with people I liked and trusted, I would. My current clan is mostly German. While I like and trust them, there is that communication barrier between us. So my idea of teamwork is just kick a$$.
