Been a fan of the series but havent played it since the Dreamcast release on the Cube. Sonic Adventure, i've seen bad reviews on this game on the PS3 but since its cheaper now would it be worth it?
Its currently $30 at bestbuy.

Well you can always give it a rent. Don't buy it if you know the game sucks.Elviathan
Thats the thing, "I" dont know that, just have heard that, but usually I don't take reviews to heart but this time just wanted a heads up for those who have it or played it.
Nah, personally I'd pass, but maybe to a fan it's still worth a rent. I haven't really enjoyed a Sonic game in years... :(Quina919
I do miss the simple 2D generation sonic, does Sonic mega collection exist on the PS2? maybe i'll check out Sonic rivals 2 on the PSP

What you should do is get Sonic Rush and Sonic Rush Adventure for the DS. Easily the best Sonic games since the Genesis era. Great stuff. Sonic Rivals for PSP is okay (much better than any of the 3D games), but it misses a lot of its potential by tossing in the whole race concept, instead of just giving us a real 2D Sonic platformer.
Oh, and yes, Sonic Mega Collection is available for PS2. And it contains Sonic CD!
^
I"ve seen that and if I had a DS i would definetly get it, for now I just have a PSP, PS3, and PC. at least you can count the PS3 as a PSone, PS2 as well (I have the 60GB version)
As a fan of the Sonic Adventure games I can tell you Sonic The Hedgehog next gen is a load of crap, mainly because of all it's bugs and the controls will give you nightmares. Even if they did fix the bugs and terrible controls, it would only be semi good an thats pushing it.. The story is lame, the soundtrack is ok, level design awful, the town stages feel gimicky like mini games they don't really tie into the story like they did in station square with SA.. Yeah the camera aswell is a big problem but that was also a problem in the SA games.
I'd stay way clear of this game.

Actually I thought the story was pretty good expecially the beginning part of the final episode my jaw dropped to the floor I can't believe they actually put that in I was like damn thats just f'd up no one deserves that. But the whole chaos emerald thing reminded me alot of DBZ with Goku and all. (only people who say it would understand what I'm talking about.
First off I'm a huge huge sonic fan ever since I was a kid (well more of shadow but you get the idea.) I bought this game thinking I would have some fun with it like I did with Shadow the hedgehog (even though they said it was bad) Oh sweet christmas pie was I wrong. I can deal with bad cameras, I can deal with not so great graphics, I can deal with repetiveness, I can deal with pointless objectives, and I can even deal with (to some extent) bad controls, but the load times are f'ing HORRENDOUS (spelled wrong I know). I dropped so much f bombs with the load times it's not even f'ing funny.
Here's an example: load time, full cg cut scene, load time, realtime cg, load time, in town, talking to a person for a mission, load time, listening to the same damn person repeat what you need to do (thats just f'ing pointless), load time, town mission, THIS PART CAN BRANCH. If you win--- load time, person talks and you get your rank, load time, back into town. If you lose--- load time, listen to the person say your failed, load time, back to town. Guess what you have to go through all those load times again their is NO retry button. Oh and the load times are usually about 10-25 seconds long.
I have never ever wanted to beat a game so badly simply because I wanted to be done with it. Don't get me wrong though once I actually beat that game I felt such an acommplishment because I stuck it out through really really thick and thin. No seriusly just beating this game completely and unlocking everything should - if you have 360 give you 1 million gamer points simply because its so horrible no joke.
In all honesty I felt sorry for the sonic brand I think Sega is seriusly trying to kill off the blue hedgehog. Who ever let that game through must have been a complete fool. It's their mascot for crying sakes at least do good on that part jeez. On another note silver really reminds me of Tidus from FFX for some reason.
THE ONLY REASON WHY I AM NOT GOING TO SELL THIS GAME IS SO I CAN REMIND MYSELF OF MY HORRIBLE MISTAKE I HAVE NEVER BOUGHT A GAME I DIDN"T LIKE AND NOW HERE IS ONE.
DO NOT BUY THIS GAME IF YOU DO NOT HAVE AN EXTREMELY WELL DEVELOPED PATIENCE.
There's more I could say but I think i've said enough.

I got Mega back when it was a Gamecube exclusive and then felt screwed over with the release of Mega Plus, so I just kind of tuned out...

Mega Collection Plus was just Mega Collection with the Game Gear games. Sonic Gems had the Game Gear games as well as Sonic CD and a few others.[QUOTE="Prince_Denspion"][QUOTE="Quina919"]Nah, personally I'd pass, but maybe to a fan it's still worth a rent.
