If you don't want Wi-Fi (wireless online) built in, or memory card slots....then the 20GB is fine. I wanted the memory card slots so it was a must have for me.

the 60 was worth it to me, gives you mosre room to save stuff on your hard drive, true you can remove and add a bigger hard drive to both versions of the system but with the 60 gig you can go longer untill needin a biger drive, plus it has both wifi and wired so you can choose either you want

You need the 60 gig for the saves for each game, its starts to add up after a while, the 20 gig doesn't last long! 2 gigs just for VF 5!

If you don't need the wifi, get a 20gb and use the extra $100 on a bigger hard disk.

I thought it was worth it. I needed the Wifi and it was one of the reasons that I decided to not only go with the 60GB model but to avoid the Xbox360 altogether. I liked the nice, consolidated feel of the console knowing that everything is in it already. Blu-ray + large HD model + Wifi = the way to go for my particular needs

Yes!, for the report in Gameinformer sony produces the 20gb version at 378$, and produces the 60gb version at 684$ so its acctually a steal like they've been telling you for awhile lol.

Like the other posters said, if you don't want wifi, media readers, or a bigger hard drive, 20 gig is fine

Yes it is, I've had it for 4 days now and am down to 42 GB. A lot of that is the 2 GB for my VF5 install.

Yes, by far. If you're going to lay down $500 you might as well kick in an extra $100 and get the quality model. You may be kicking yourself if the future if you don't.

you dont have to have cables running all over the place, just one ethernet. you can cleanly install these through walls much like a phone jack or cable jack.

dont mislead him, the model quality is no different, you are only giving up wifi and the readers. the extra hundred dollars can get you a 120 gig drive http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822146227 so, depends on your personal needs, if you need wifi and slot readers, buy the 60gb, if you dont need those, buy the 20gb and get the bigger drive

usually apartments will approve professionally done installations if they benefit the apartment. kinda hard to argue with you if you ask to have a ethernet installed in a particular room, and you are willing to fork the cash, they might even renovate it for you if you ask. when i rented, i had them install another cable line in my room without incidence, didnt cost anything either.

The Wi-Fi is interesting, but if you're the gamer who just wants to chill, play his PS3, and still get a bunch of features, don't bother with the 60 gig. 100$ dollars for memory slots? Impulse buy at best. 20G'll do ye fine.

Keep in mind that right now it seems that the 20GB version is not as readliy available as the 60GB model. Not sure if it is SONY trying to limit them or not but I have only seen the 60GB version for sale around hear for at least since January. (Upstate NY)

Good luck though man, either way you will not be dissapointed.

I have one thing to say...good luck finding a 20 GB version.  After spending a week not being able to find a 20GB, I just turned around and bought a 60GB.  I didn't think I would need the extra hard drive space until I learned I can convert all my videos to mpeg4 and use a cd-rw to transfer them to the ps3.  It is nice watching some of my anime that hasn't been released on american dvds on my TV in their normal colors (when I hooked up my computer to the TV, it always made the colors look too bright).  It really is an entertainment system, I no longer how to hook up my computer to the TV...though now I have this useless dvi-to-hdmi cable not being used anymore.
