Well, my 360 is connected to my computer monitor via VGA so I'm able to get 720P HD quality. I have one more port available (VGA), I would like to use it for my PS3 (when I get one, this'll probably determine if I do or not).

VGA is analog
do you mean HDMI to DVI? or you meant RCA (that's not HDMI anymore)?

to answer TC's question, i don't think you can do that without a VGA box if you try to connect through VGA

It might be possible to play games but as far as playing blu-ray movies, I think it will be downgraded to 480i b/c vga isn't hdcp compatible.

If anyone finds out for sure can you post it here, b/c i was thinking about doing the same thing.

It is if you purchase a device like the HDFury, it allows you to use VGA. Check out this website...

Link

Im currently using it with my PS3 and monitor, despite being HDCP compliant I am able to have multiple sources connected to the monitor with this handy device.

It doesn't matter if themonitor supports Full 1080P or not. If it's not HDCP compatible, then 1080P is no go.

So the best solution is to get a gear called GameSwitch, produced by Databay. Product Details It works perfectly with my PC, PS3 and my Dell 2405FPW.

Hi lhbchen, I just bought myself a Gameswitch and I have a PS3 hooked up to the same 2405FPW.

I'm having a problem switching between PC and PS3. If PC is displaying 1920x1200 and I press the button to switch to PS3@1920x1080, it switches over fine. But if I press it again to return to PC, the monitor displays a 'self-check' mode, as if it isn't receiving a signal properly. I have to unplug and re-plug the PC DVI cable to get the PC picture back.

Do you have this issue?

Thanks.
