it's all up to you... everyone on here will give you the same answers as to why it's worth the money... it's a great investment now, and for the future... i still don't get why people ask if they should get a ps3 on these forums...if you know all there is to know about the ps3 (and you can gain that knowledge before getting into these forums), why even ask? it's all up to you, and of course we'll all persuade you with the same answers, but if you are really wanting it, by all means go for it...
thats somethin only you could say, jsut cuz it was worth it to someone on here doesnt mean it will be to you, do some research on the games and system and find out if it fits your style of gamin, i myself am slowly wonderin if it was worth it, but im sure that will change come october when i get 3-6 new games, but if they still have no custom soundtrack then ill be forced to keep second guessin the purchase
virtual fighter 5. gow2. f1. motorstorm. oblivion. the firmware update this month. tekken dark. All of these by the end of next month. i included the firmware update because it will most likey improve your hardware functionalities. after march there is heavenly sword and lair to look at. Again everything i mentioned are exclusives only (except oblivion, but it plays better of course)
Depends on what you want in a system. If you want a system that is built for the future, you will want a PS3. Now, is it worth the money? Thats up to you to decide. I say yes, along with a lot of others, but you may not feel that way. I'm getting one this week, and the only reason is because I'm much more interested in the games that it has coming out than the 360, or I'd get one of those.
If you like waiting a year for the game library increase then it might be worth it. But it is not worth buying now because it will just collect dust due to the lack of games.
I have one and I only have an SDTV. Get Resistance! The system is amazing, no problems, it looks wonderful! GET IT NOW! You won't regret it! Don't buy the "other" console, you'll regret that.

Geez, its a good thing GeOW came out a year after the launch of the 360, because if it didn't the 360 wouldn't have had any good games to play for an entire 2 years up to the Halo 3 launch. Well, I'd say 4 months is a little better than year, and March will bring great games for the PS3.

there is a post like this once every hour, you have two options: 1. Use the search topic function. its there for a reason, so you dont clutter up the boards with a new "Is the ps3 worth it" post every 5 min. 2. do your own research. god knows there's plenty of info out there
In reality the PS3 is worth more then that... 600 bucks is reasonable. Sony loses money on every console sold so in answering your question, no the ps3 isnt worth 600 bucks its worth more.

Honestly I would base my descision to buy it on weather or not there are exclusive games available on it that you absolutely have to play. Don't just buy it to buy it... save the $ for a rainy day, or a must have PS3 exclusive title you can't live without. Maybe Resistance is such a title for you, but not me. It's fun... just not $700 fun.
It's well worth the money. There are some pretty solid games out on it now & about 18 more coming out b/w now & the end of March. I would suggest investing in a decent HDTV (even if it's just a 27") if you haven't already... the difference is amazing! Plus then you get to take advantage of the blu ray player also.... and that by itself is worth the $600 so it's a pretty easy choice if you plan on owning an HDTV.
The games are still great without the HDTV but you just won't get the full experience.

Seems like you were a rabid 360 supporter but are slowly seeing that all the negativity with the PS3 was all BS and are a little torn now 'cause you now see the PS3 as better than the 360 but don't want to admit it... yet LOL! I'm close aren't I? :D
