Would be waste of money unless your planning on getting a new UHD HDR tv. I doubt you'd see any improvement.

It will bring upgrades for 1080p displays but these depend on the game. If Square does good on their announcement, for example, and gives PS4 Pro owners FF15 at 1080p60 then that is a huge upgrade.

My suggestion would be, if you already have a PS4 then wait and see how many games give worthwhile updates for 1080p. You can upgrade if you feel there are enough that interest you and you consider the upgrades significant.

If you don't have a PS4 at all and you're thinking of getting one, I'd go for the Pro. The difference in price isn't that great and there will be games that take advantage of the extra power even at 1080p.

Personally when I finally get a PS4, perhaps a few months down the line, I'm getting a Pro. I do have a 4k TV but even if I didn't I'd like to have the superior hardware, even if only a few games take advantage of it.

Gamers who read or hear about the PS4 Pro immediately gravitate to the buzz words in Sony's marketing campaign; 4K and VR gaming.

The truth is that the PS4 Pro is probably the system Sony wanted to make all along. Developers will not leave out 1080p. The Skyrim Special Edition has supersampling anti-aliasing at 1080p with increase LOD. Killing Floor 2 also is going to use SMAA! And of course like a user said earlier, FFXV is going to run at a higher framerate. The most controversial improvement is the increase framerate for BF1 in multiplayer by almost 15 frames a second.

What I see as the PS4 gets older and cheaper is the Pro being the the system having the most consideration. If Battlefield 1 is a good indicator of the future. Welcome to PC! :P

Some games will take advantage of 1080p but it all depends on the game lol.

If you already have a PS4 and don't have a 4K HDR TV, then no. You're basically paying an extra £350 (or US equivalent) for slightly sharper textures and AA.

Yes, pretty much *jaggie free games and potentially better framerates (Battlefield 1). I also like that it's silent, my old unit sounded like a vacuum cleaner.

*Pro patch required.
