I was thinking of buying a PSP Go but people say it's bad and that it's impossible to "play games with it." (lol wtf?) What makes it bad?

Primarily 3 things it seems for people
That's pretty much it. Also people have this image in their head that the new PSP Go is an upgrade and/or is meant to be a replacement for the current PSP 3000.
the PSP 3000 can do everything that the PSP Go can do with one exception. Bluetooth - which besides tethering it to my cell phone, isn't much use besides that.
Frankly i really like my PSP Go, before the price was announced, i saw that this was the route that Sony was gonna move with their handhelds - like it or not for the fans who like hard copies. Microsoft is doing their own online game service deal, there were memos between Sony and Sega, that in 2010 Sony is possibly setting up a PS2 storefront in PS3 (possible, would be nice.....).
Frankly when it comes to handheld games, and smaller downloadable games, i don't mind it being digital. The fact that i can put it in my pocket, pop it open, go from a long race in Gran Turismo to pushing through a level in Prinney or God of War is pretty sweet. without having to have my hands cramped from the awkward control set up of the old model, no game freezes up because the UMD is spinning.
I currently have 7 PSP games, and 2 PSone games on my PSP.
Today i'm going out to get.
It truly comes down to 3 lines of decisions.
Meh UMD's are more expenive in where I live. $70+ just for just one UMD? WTF??!Primarily 3 things it seems for people
Most games are not competitively priced, There is no incentive pricing to get the digital version (which i think they're gonna do in the end to leverage themselves out of the retailers grips).

The basic question comes down to this- do you mind only having digital versions of your game that aren't resellable? If you're ok with that, the Go is a great buy and I certainly love mine. One thing SaudFury forgot to mention is that, besides bluetooth, it does include save-state support. While you'll only get one, after you've saved like that, it takes about 5 seconds to launch exactly where you left off in a game (far faster than loading the game as usual). Also, the controls are different and in my opinion, vastly more comfortable. Really, it does come down to how you purchase your games.I was thinking of buying a PSP Go but people say it's bad and that it's impossible to "play games with it." (lol wtf?) What makes it bad?

it depends on your taste. I have had my psp 1000 since launch and as soon as the GO was announced, I was on the bandwagon. I dont sell back my games and i dont have a large collection of umds so the choice to switch over wasnt that hard at all. I like the save-state/pause feature and I use it everyday when im on campus. I also have a bluetooth headphones that I can wirelessly listen to music and video audio which is great also. Im not saying that you should get the psp go outright, but you should see if the 3000 is more for you. I would recommend the 3000 to younger psp owners while older should op for the GO, generally.
Its not that bad... I like it in fact I am playing it right now, at first its awkward but you can adjst to it.

And PSP Go is a waste of money. The new design, in no way, justifies the extra $90 for the unit. It's just extra money because Sony has to UP the cost in order to try coming out as close to even (if not profitable). If the rumors about the PSP4000 are true then we'll live to see Sony with it's tail between it's legs over it's P$PGOmillerjs1986
LOL,Sony victims of there own device........I just wonder why Sony would even put out the PSP GO, What they should have done is spent the developing money they spent on the PSP GO and Developed a MMORPG (Everquest PSP) for the PSP.Sony could have made a fortune on the monthly fee
Been considering which PSP I want to pick up, but it all comes down to the software. The 3000 can play UMDs AND PSN downloads, making it the winner. Also, I have found that it's possible to find UMD versions of games cheaper than the PSN counterparts. While the Go is attractive, its all about saving money in the long run.
I have one, it's awsome all the stuff people say about it that is bad. really isnt true they just can not afford one.

So let me guess, you're like 12 years old and your parents buy you everything. No, not everyone can afford one, but you can't deny that it has it's problems.

agreedIt all depends, just like a few others have said, are you one to resell your games and what you purchase. I bought the PSP Go because I didn't have that many UMD's around. I enjoy not having to carry many UMD's around, where as with the Go, you can switch from the hard drive. It's not bad, it's just people think of it like so. The PSP 3000 does everything that the Go does, exception being the Bluetooth. If you don't have that many UMD's, it's not much of a problem. As others have said, the PSN and Sony are beginning to listen and putting out what we want. Final Fantasy 7 and 8, Dino Crisis, Resident Evil 2 just to name a few.

The price of software is still a problem with the Go. Why should I have to pay $40 for Badass Rumble on PSN when I can pay $30 for a physical copy at Gamestop?
I love my PSP GO! I used to have the older models, but found them to be a bit clunky with respect to dimensions. I find the GO to be much comfortable to play with. In addition to some of the pros listed, I would like to state that the volume from the GO gets much louder than previous models.
I think it makes a whole lot more sense to have download only games. Who wants to carry around a stack of UMD's around with them? I sure don't. I think only downside to the GO is that its entry price point is to high. Then again, I got mine for $180.
