You must have an HDTV to experience anything other than 480i Also, its called "720p" not "730p" just so you know for future reference. Sorry :(

Depending where you live there are a couple of options. In America I believe your only upgrade option is to use an s-video cable, providing your tv has an s-video input. If you live in Europe you can use an RGB Scart which provides the best picture quality you can get out of an SDTV (at 480i anyway). Just realised that it must be an American setup as the resolution is 480i, on Europe PS3's the lowest resolution is 576i. So a RGB Scart would actually output 576i.

You aren't giving us enough info to help.  SDTV can have component, s-video and composite from best to worst in that order.  You have to tell us what you are current using and what inputs your tv has.

Not entirely. If you have an S-video or component port on the t.v you should be able to go to 480p, which is a little cleaner than 480i.

SDTV cannot display 480p. Even if you use S-video or Component.

component would be red, green and blue plug holes.  Ok. so you have at least and s-video input.  Are you using it or just the yellow video cable?  If your not get a ps2 s-video cable it will improve the sharpness of your picture quite a bit.

No yellow is composite the worst picture quality.  The red and white are for audio.  S-video is just a black circle with a whole bunch of little holes inside the circle.

Yep, I would definitely reccommend getting a set of ps2 s-video cables.  You should be able to find them just about anywhere.  Target, walmart, gamestop etc.  They should run $10 to $15.  They will improve the clarity(especially noticable with text) and color bleed.

Yea, you can put some 46" Sony Bravia HDTV in front of your SDTV. Now that will make it look good.

If you are using the yellow plug right now (composite) then yes get that ps2 s-video cable.  It will improve the picture a good amount.

Component > S-Video > RCA

RCA is the three plug Red, White, and Yellow cables. S-Video looks kind of like a plug that would plug into the old school mouse and keyboard ports on the back of a PC. Component is red, white, green, yellow and blue.

Just get the best cables you can get. S-Video looks quite a bit better then RCA. The text on the screen will be clearer and the level of color depth will be better.

If your t.v supports component, then get those cables. they are a step above S-video cables. Also, RCA a.k.a. composite video cables.
