is there a difference between cheap and expensive component cables?

with hdmi, a lot says there's no difference between cheap and high-priced ones. but that's digital.

now, component is analog, i believe. so is the case the same or not? would the official sony serve me better or i can just get those cheap ones at ebay?

welli have two HDMI cables one my rockford (best) (also not sur eon the spelling) is for my ps3 and sadly my xbo 360 and i got a cheeap one for like 40 bucks to my computer to my tv and to be honest i cant really find a diffrence in any of their qualities im sure my rockford conects beter cause its like copper coated or w/e lol but i would say get a cheap one butt keep the recipt

I found a generic one at ebay for 5 bucks. My next option is going to BestBuy. They have the official Sony ones and Rocketfish. Price for both is the same at $20. Too steep for me. Can't find anything in between. Im just worried the generic from ebay will be crap.
