Is there a way to play ps2 games on ps3?

I like my ps2 games very much n thinking how to put it on my ps3....if u know anything about it pls share with it...

Well....most ps3's have ps2 compatibility, except the 40gb models and some of the 80 gb models (i think?). :|

Im dumbfounded, why dont you just stick the ps2 game in your ps3 and see if it works?

Buying a backwards compatible PS3 system would be a good start.

ya try putting it in the ps3 the worst that can happen is it saying its not compatible... i have an older 80GB ps3 so i can play PSX and PS2 games

Just the earlier models of PS3 had backward compatribility with PS2 games. The launch 60 GB and 20 GB had the PS2 chipset built in and have the best BC. The early 80 GB models used software emulation only- not as robust but did the job for most of the popular titles. The later 80 GB systems (those put out after the MGS4 bundle) and 40 Gb have no PS2 backward compatibility at all- if you have one of these you are SOL.

if your ps3 model doesnt have backward compatability then your out of luck , just hook up my ps2 next to your ps3..it doesnt take up that much room

you wont find a newer model thats backwards compatible so get a searching man really only ones now are older 80gbs and thelike original 60gbs
