Ok, recently, my friend gave me a gift card that would basically buy me a PSP and a couple games, but I don't really know if i want it so much. Ive been a PC gamer for a while, and i do own a 360, but i was wondering what exactly the PsP has to offer for a person like me. I really barely play shooter games, and i Love fighters rpgs and a 2d side-scrollers (mario, megaman, etc.), but even then, I don't know where to start looking from. Can someone suggest some good games? and is there any reason to pick up a PSP as opposed to an IPOD or something else (DS)? also, how big can the memory stick get?

you can't compare pc and xbox 360 games with psp games. they are like apples and oranges. psp offers mobility and freedom to take games with you which concole or pc won't offer. if you like 2d side scrollers and rpg's psp has a ton of them. i am sure DS has a ton too. first thing you ask yourself is do you need a hand held or are you satisfied with console/pc gaming. 2nd thing you need to do is research on the videos of gameplay some of the games people are listing here and compare it with DS gameplay videos and see which one you prefer.
here are some RPG games and 2d-side scrollers i had fun with for the psp:
rpg: crisis core(you won't get anything close to crisis core for the DS), valkyrie profile lenneth, kingdom of paradise, marvel ultimate alliance, xmen legends 2 jeanne d'arc, final fantasy war of the lions, and others that are listed above
2d-side scrollers: castlevania dracula x chrnoicles(3 games in one), prinny can i really be hero, metal slug anthology (5 or 6 games in one umd game), hammering hero (not that good), gradius collection (2d side scrolling space fighter)
on a side note, catlevania also has symphony of the night which is a 2d side scrolling game with rpg elements to it.
since i am a psp fan i would ofcourse recommend getting a psp because i can enjoy all genre of games, 2d as well as 3d.
