is there anyway to fix a ps3 virus i got one from downloading a ps3 theme

can't play any games it block anything in do it change you my backgound to to blue screen whit a black box that says "system under attack by virus"

Did you buy the theme from the PSN store? If yes, contact Sony. I have found them to be quite helpful and quick to respond.

This is the 1st time, I've come across a problem like this. I initially thought your problem was corrupt data, but after reading your problem, I see it's much worse! The only option I can suggest to you is, 1st back up your data (if possible) and restore your PS3, to it's default settings!yokokoroma

YES IT IS POSSIBLE! happen to me, that why i never get online with my ps3, i had to literally reboot my entire system and start from scratch losing everything to fix it, and hate to say it but thats your only option, STAY OFF THE INTERNET ON PS3!

What could you possibly do on the ps3 internet to catch a virus I mean who uses a ps3 to watch fap material use your dang computer for that. Anyway like I said before people cannot make viruses for ps3 they don't have the tools and a windows virus even if placed on the PS3 would never open.

i found out that it was a trojan horse by downloading the same theme on my computer my avast antivirus on computer pick it up now i know it a trojan horse i there anyway to get avast antivirus on ps3

thats not a good idea (which is why i never use the web browser on the PS3 in the first place, that and the browser is very slow), you should attempt to do that on a computer (that has an internet security installed on it), because PS3 doesn't have any of that in the console

I don't understand when you re downloaded the file on your pc avast gave you virus msg? how? pc and ps3 2 diffenr operation systems that have 2 different CPUs.. there's no way ur pc can understand/handle ps3 program/virus and report it as a virus unless it's a pc program/virus... also you can't run 3rd party applications on your ps3 so there's no way you can have virus unless you jail broken your ps3...

judging by the posts i've seen in this thread its obviously extremely rare, but trust me it does happen and since there aren't any antivirus programs for ps3 i personally just stay offline unless buying DLC.
