The Ps3 already looks fantastic on a 21" 480i, but the question is if a 19" 720p would make much of a difference.

Anyone have any noticable experiences on to how it enhances the picture? (or whether to stick it out for a while for a 1080p in the future)

Are you serious? There is a big difference between 480i and 720p. if you're considering getting a 40 inch tv or bigger, then I would go for a 1080p. Whatever you decide, going HD will be a significant upgrade from 480i.

The best thing you could do is invest in a 21" PC monitor capable of 1080p. You could get a Samsung 216BW for around $250 and use it for both PC and PS3 gaming...

And believe me 720p and 1080p look much better than 480i.

I do want to stress that if you are buying a HD tv, make sure its a nice one. I sell tv's and a good 720p tv is a heck of a lot better than a crappy 1080p tv. there is more to the quality of the tv than the resolution. Just dont go with the cheapest one. Cant tell you how many customers have made that mistake. My suggestion would be a samsung lcd.

YES, there is a huge difference.

But then again, my brother knows a guy who can't tell the difference between PSone and PS2 graphics.

Oh yea. Where my PS3 is now its only 540 or 480? p. Yet when I move, it goes back on the 1080p one, thats downstairs now. It still looks really good, but its a big change. That chart looks about right. And the TV does make a difference "like the one guy said." The TV upstairs is "I forget?" some cheap one.

Like digital cameras. Some 6 mega pixel camera's look better than some 10 mega pixel ones. And I dont love Sony their, I got Cannon over the Sony"overrated" Cybershot. Sorta the same thing, its not all in just 1080p or not. Although 1080p the right way blows 720p away. As you can see by that chart.

its a pretty big difference.

the graphical leap from last gen to this gen isn't that impressive if you're not viewing it in HD.

yeah thats why 360/ ps3 are not selling that well because its almost double the price of the ps2/xbox from last gen.

back to the topic yes it looks alot better. buy a cheap 27` lcd hdtv for about 400 bucks then buy ur big tv later next year. that what i did
