Is there really a "next gen" game?

Meaning a game that has something new. Something the previous gen doesn't have aside from better graphics. A game that is impossible to be made in the previous gen.

I can't think of anything else that improved in this gen aside from better graphics. Most PS3 (and even 360) games could still be made for their previous consoles but with crappier graphics.

Also, most current gen games are short (story wise).

Seriously, can't you see the massive change? The content we have in games on current consoles couldn't of been made last gen. Not in terms of lengh, but things such as the game physics, just couldn't of been made on the PS2.

Well if that is what your looking for I suggest you buy a Wii

There's nothing as noticible as the jump from n64/ps1 to ps2/gamecube/xbox

I hate the phrase "next gen" though. It doesn't mean anything, it's just something people say to hype up a game or console. Shouldn't we be "current gen" by now anyway?

Last I checked MGS4 is a next gen game and alot of people will agree.
