dont trust the brand? dont listen to him, Sharp makes a great TV, they always have, Sony, Sharp, Samsung, LG, those are the brands i know for sure make great HD TV's, any of those are a sure bet. if you have the room, i would look into a Samsung DLP 1080P set, you can get it for almost half the price, and they look great. only drawbacks are bulb life and slightly thicker than a LCD (but not enough to really matter with that kind of diagnal size), but you usually get 10-15k hours of bulb life out of em, and the bulbs are easy to change. my parents own a Samsung 42" DLP and my brothers PS3 looks great on it, i go over there all the time and play when i can (my tv is a LG 32" LCD) http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7705771&type=product&productCategoryId=pcmcat95100050039&id=1138085296639

i know dlp's are a lot cheaper than lcd's. im tryin to wall mount the sharp but is the price difference really worth getting a "clunkier" tv?

Sharp Aquos are some of the best LCD HDTVs on the market. I have a coworker that bought a 37" Aquos about 18 months ago. He probably paid at least 3 grand for it back then.

ha, then your gonna probably have to wait till about jan. next year, they will be switching most normal stations to HD by that time, especially around next years superbowl, right after christmas when they sell a lot of the tvs. if i were you, to be honest, i would jump on one of the smaller DLP sets for now, then next year or so they will drop in price to get the large ones. just a suggestion, i dont know your needs or your set up, its a great TV, i doubt you will be disappointed cause you will get a full year or so of enjoyment out of it before they drop a lot anyway.
