Never heard of that brand before. Do some research on the brand if you decide to buy it. You never really know what you get with random brands.

Never heard of this brand - ever.
My advice to you is to go with a popular brand: Either Toshiba (my personal favorite) or Sony. Every television I've ever bought has been Toshiba.
You can find a 32" Toshiba in that price range but it won't be 1080p
With your Sony PS3? Go for the Bravia! Its wshat i'm hoping to get.

This thing is a absolute beast! Try to get a refurbished one with warranty, its cheaper.
Toshiba believe or not is actually right up there with sony in quality and performance. Most TV's from manufacturers injapan come from the same factory anyways like sony and samsung. I've researched big time about tv's ever since i got a ps3 and i have to say that Sony Toshiba and Sharp are very very good. the new Sharp 32" 1080p is actually my favorite right now, i saw it right next to the 32" sony and 32" samsung and the sony and sharp looked amazing while the samsung wasnt as bright with colors but still a good tv. I say save up for the sharp or wait a little longer and save up for the more expensive sony.
P.S--The sharp 32" 1080p has 10,000:1 contrast ratio and 6ms (destroys the sony and samsung specs).

i have a nice toshiba....best though...is either aquas or pioneer elite though
Even if that tv was from a well known brand, I wouldn't buy it. Its contrast ratio was 800:1, which is pathetic. I think your best option would be to go with the 32" sharp aquos 1080p lcd. It's on amazon right now for $1029 with free shipping. It is a sexy looking tv and I have heard nothing but good things about its performance.TellMeIBeenBad
My 42inch Sharp Aquos 1080p LCD is abs AMAZING, beautiful picture, my games look amazing, and before i bought it, all i heard was good things out of the SHARP AQUOS's, if you have the XTRA cash, dooooooooo it. YOU WONT REGRET IT!!!!!!!!

First Akai is NOT a small brand. They just usually have made their name in the audio receiver market. They are a decent company - not top of the heap but not the bottom either. I think this is a GREAT price for a 1080p TV. What I would suggest is heading over to www.AVSforum.comand check out what other owners have to say about that model.
:)

Wuuut my brother got a 42" Sharp (1080p) for 1200$ at Sears.
Anyway on topic: of the unknown brands, Vizio and Westinghouse is suppose to have a good reputation. I've seen 42" Vizio's (1080p) for 1000-1200$. 37" Vizio costs around 750 at walmart afaik. 32" costs around 600 at various stores. The last two are 720p, though at that size it wouldn't have mattered if you had 1080p...
