How old are you? Ever heard of static build up? As in when you walk on carpet and touch someone or something and it happens.

Sounds like your PS3 is not properly grounded.

Happens to me too. I am very "electric", I carry too much static electricity. When I kiss my girl "zzzap" I electrocute her, when I go to open my car "zaaapp." So now I touch the wooden table where the ps3 is before I touch the eject button. I ground myself.:?

lol how old am I, im 16 and ive obvisouly heard of static buildup but that shouldnt happen, you *****ceriousgamer
You tell him. I think he was more worried about it harming his PS3, rather than getting a lesson on static electricity. As others have said though, you may have something around your PS3 that is building it up. I don't think 1 shock would break it, but over a long period of time it could possibly do some harm. I'd try rearranging your setup.

Ceriousgamer, if I were you, I'd change that last word in your comment.

there wasn't really any need to say that at the end, just saying. also i'm not sure if its bad for the ps3 as it hasn't happened to me i guess you should watch out. EDIT: i made a different comment at the end.

In the US, it's winter. If you run a heater, you are constantly draining moisture out of the air and building up static electricity. I have to constantly run a humidifier in the winter or I can feel an aura of static electricity surrounding me.

Get a humidifier it sounds like your house is to dry and that is allowing the build up. You wont hurt anything though, your self or your system.
