The Inquirer.
It took just one look at the URL to know that it's not worth reading.

I dont know hat you mean. They are hard working journalists and they have to know whats going on in the gaming world. I mean come on, Gamespot quotes them all the time. They gotta be legit...pppppppppph LOL. I couldnt write it with out a straight face. BTW does M$ own that rag or what? It hates the PS3. Â

[QUOTE="Pelon208"]microsoft its copying everything for sony, first the HDMI port then the color (black) and now they want the folding home too, in the future they are going to have a home too or what.CellienAre you being serious? MS copying EVERYTHING from Sony? Just wow.
Well , yeah. They are copying everything from Sony. I mean, first the HDMI Port, then the color black and 120gb on the new Xbox Elite. Now this? MS Fanboys use to say that Sony copied everything from nintendo (controllers, ports etc) and some from the Xbox 360 too.. but it seems it's the opposite here >_>

In the one case of Home.. yes, they do seem to be borrowing heavily. The console being black? Sony must have copied Sega, Atari, Panasonic (3DO) and a slew of other consoles from the past then :P If anyone should be accused of copying (which they shouldn't.. this industry is built on taking an idea and building on it).. it should be Sony this gen. Last minute motion control decision (Wiimote), an online service that is taking heavy cues from MS.. downloadable content, store, achievements (in Home).. But like I said.. saying a console company is copying another is ridiculous. Its the way has always been.[QUOTE="RELover00"]Are you being serious? MS copying EVERYTHING from Sony? I stopped reading when I read the quote, "I'm not quite sure yet whether we're seeing real tangible results from the PlayStation 3 Folding@Home initiative."

Wow, looks like someone's lacking in the sense of humor department.Â
pfft ...
Peter Moore is saying that 360's CPU + GPU combined could outperform the CELL ?
I really doubt it ... Now Peter moore to me is the type of executive who looks at the numbers then makes a descion and on paper -- yes 360 CPU + GPU destroys the CELL .... however RAM bottlenecks and reduced efficiently means 360 just couldn't offer any real improvment in folding ...
Really i think its litttle sad also if we are comparing consoles based on Folding@Home ... i mean id love it if 360's got Folding@Home -- help cure cancer, the more the better !! Â
First off, this is sad folding is supposed to be just soemthing you do to benifit society, so what does MS do make it a competition to 'try' to show the 360 is better at something.
Second, there are more 360's then PS3's
Third, there is no way i would leave my 360 on for more then a day and i knwo most everyone would agree with me!
overall its sad that MS said nothign about how they want to start it up to help, but to start it to try to out fold the PS3, just ridiculous i hope they do it and all 360 owners fold for days to beat the PS3 and have them all break after warranty so they are screwed all because of the sellfish ambitions of MS.
lol no one knows what the cell can do yet ...really honestly no one has any clue really waht the capabilities are and what they will be in the future ....look at the PS2 games like god of war and such starting coming out and using the ps2 capabilities to full extent...I imagine this will happen with the PS3 it will just get better and better and smooother as it goes...it is a brand new technology and to say the 360 is 2-3x faster is ludacris lol seriously.BLiZZaK07No, I know it for a fact. 360s GPU is made by ATI, and ATI has made all of their recent GPU designs based around flexibility, and it just so happens they pioneered the GPU folding@home program. While the PS3 only uses its CPU, the 360 would use its CPU and GPU. The GPU alone should easily pass the cell and with the addition of the CPU as well it would pass it easily. Read up on it.

Great, but you haven't said weather the machine will survive its folding ordeal if you leave it on and say, leave the house and go to work. The whole idea of folding at home is that people can leave their systems on when they aren't being used to provide processing power. Both computers and the ps3 are capable of this, but from what I've read so far, the 360 is not.
And ultimately, who cares which one folds better. I doubt the biologists are goanna care if their getting power from a ps3 or a 360 as long as it helps them to answer the questions and develope cures for diseases such as cancer and alzheimer's. I really must wonder what these MS guys are thinking turning such a wonderful aspect of these "toys" (its what they are really) into a competition. Here video games are offering ways to help humanity and it turns into a war. They should take a clue from Gates, at least he works full time at giving his money away.

Thats the dumbest thing I read all day on these forums. :roll:Â I dont need to make anymore comments because you basicaly owned yourself with that remark.

3Â cliches come to mind M$, "Show me the money", "Put up or shut up." "Talk is cheap"
Maybe M$ is interested in finding a cure for the red rings of death first.

Its the way has always been. actually if you want to be nitpicky playstation online was taken from dreamcast, not xbox. xbox was the 3rd one in that category. Also i will give you 100 points for naming what is copied from nintendo for home. also the avatar does not count. nintendo did not create the concept of avatars.[QUOTE="BLiZZaK07"]lol no one knows what the cell can do yet ...really honestly no one has any clue really waht the capabilities are and what they will be in the future ....look at the PS2 games like god of war and such starting coming out and using the ps2 capabilities to full extent...I imagine this will happen with the PS3 it will just get better and better and smooother as it goes...it is a brand new technology and to say the 360 is 2-3x faster is ludacris lol seriously.teebeenzNo, I know it for a fact. 360s GPU is made by ATI, and ATI has made all of their recent GPU designs based around flexibility, and it just so happens they pioneered the GPU folding@home program. You sound like some fanboy who just kind of listens to what tech people say and then try to bs your way through a conversation about it later on only to find out that you didnt understand a thing they said in the first place so not only are you making things up but everyone knows it. Dont be that guy.
