Not at all its praised for its many strengths and put down for its few short comings. The only reason it doesn't have the fame of new IP's like Bioshock and Gears of War is because it hasn't carved out an identity of its own yet.
Feel free to elaborate.. im one of those who haven't yet played Uncharted. I've read on these forums a LOT since its release how awesome it is. I just haven't got around to getting it yet.

I think Uncharted is underrated. I thought the voice acting was good and the game play was excellent. The game also had a good story. Uncharted is a blast and any PS3 owner should own this game.
are you kidding me uncharted had the second worst voice acting of any ps3 game ive ever seen worst is haze. uncharted is a decent game is it a must own heck no is it a game to pick up in the 20$ bargain bin where i got it maybe. it isnt that good. it is decent

Sucky voice acting? You must be kidding me right? It has movie quality voice acting, some of the best ever in a game for ps3 if not THE BEST. I think you may want to change your system setup, because your definitley not hearing what Im hearing. The gameplay, it was great for the most part. It had some flaws, but no game is perfect. These flaws were bearable...Grenade throwing, some aspects of shooting..

I agree with the 8/10 score gamespot gave to Uncharted. What I really didn't like in this game is that it's too realistic in terms of carrying guns & ammos, some areas have too many enemies, and for me the enemies are a little too smart. I played the game in easy mode and still died a lot of times. Hehe.
It was a great, solid game...But I think it got the hype it deserved. It doesn't do anything terribly new or exciting in terms of genre. It was just a fun game to play that looks great while doing so. I'm not a big MGS guy, so this is still my favorite PS3 game/IP.

Well, as long as you've got speakers you should be able to discern the high quality of the voice work. I'm not sure what games you'd be comparing this to, but I haven't heard voice work of this caliber in any other game (MGS comes close, but it's a little hammy at times). Now, to address the TC's question, I feel that Uncharted has received fair reviews, and is widely praised by, both, the critics and non-professional gamer community. Some gameplay elements leave something to be desired, such as the lackluster platforming elements and... okay, that was about it for me. But most everything else, from graphics, to environments, characters, animations, shooting mechanics, VOICE ACTING, and plot were very well done. Uncharted definitely stands as an indisputable top tier title.
the game was really done well... i enjoyed it and put it up there with one of the best on the ps3.. but it has many flaws.. you can look up the topic "what would you want to improve from uncharted to uncharted 2" to see what were the biggest flaws...
I don't think it's underratted I think its alright. Something about it just didn't feel right to me, I borrowed it from a friend and made it about 3/4 or more through the game and just gave it back. I did see someone finnish it though and the story just never made me want to play more and the combat wasn't satisfying enough to keep me going.
first 3 chapters are not that wonderful but when u move further in the story u like the game when u discover the truth in the story that time i was shocked. from that time i really liked the game and i still play it now so the game is underrated maybe because it has no online gaming
The game is not over rated at all it is a solid action/adventure experience throughout and i think why people aren't playing it as much is because there wasn't enough hype about it at the time.

I think it is really underrated. I hadn't bought the game for the longest time. Just recently I saw the Uncharted 2 trailers and thought that they looked amazing. Just bought Uncharted and wow... it's such a great game. I would've had no idea.

I agre with this. Generally by the people who have played it, they all have good things to say. Unfortunately, it does not receive a lot of national attention as compared with other games.
