Not sure if I should get this game, simply because it's been out for almost two and a half years and it's probably full of experienced players... I know the game has three expansions, which to me spells lots of content, tons of maps and lots of weapons... so what do you guys think? Will I have fun with this game, just picking it up for the first time?

lol, Doubtful.

Anyone who still plays that game over two years later has to be a die hard fan, and die hard fans have been playing it for a while so expect some really tough competition.

My experience with Warhawk is that if you are a new player you will do ok on the ground, but if you try and fly with the guys that have been playing since day one, you will get owned!!!

You can play the game with other players who are at your level, so you don't have to worry aboutgetting destroyed by high-level players.

no it's not very noob friendly. there is a prettysteeplearning curve especially with the air combat, but once you get over it, it's one of the best online multiplayers you'll find. plus it has four-player split screen for if your freinds come over and want to play online with you.

Well you start off playing people at a similer level so yeh it is but when youprogress it will get more difficult. But if you on the winning team at least you will have a lot of fun! Its well worth picking up!

Haha not at all, the game is really old so most people playing it now are just pros of it.

I remember playing it online for about 2 days, second day i joined a big server map, got into a hover flight thing, and this enemy was flying to the top of our base for some reason, right on this square platform, and one of our team members was there too, i think they wanted a one on one, i think anyway.

But everytime he flew over there, i blasted him with my ship, and eventually, he got so pissed off, i got booted, without any reason.

People who still play this are mostly elitist jerks, dont expect any help at all.

Just try it you can get it cheap now and if you dont like ti sell it on again! DOnt be put off by the haters its aclassic game with a good community!

hahaha....oh wait you are serious.......let me put it this way....if you are looking for a newb friendly experience.....warhawk is not what you are looking for man.

I've been a on and off warhawk addict since 2007. Its fun as hell, but only if you are really good at it. I am a decent pilot, but only enough to get a kill here and there and make it out alive.

warhawk is the game that made me leave the xbox360 for good. but it isnt noob friendly i tried 2 get all my friends 2 play it. but they all complained it wasnt easy 2 get into and they were tired of being chewed up and gave up. i didnt do good at first but now i have around a 12 to 1 kd ratio you have to find what youre good at and stick to it.

I played like all of last night after I DLed the game, it was so much fun, and yes I did get beaten a lot (I didn't sort by rank) but even so, it wasn't terribly frustrating... I love the huge maps, they are just plain awesome

Mate, I know someone said most remaining Warhawkers are elitist jerks but that's not my experience of the game at all. I advised a mate to still give it a go just because I think it's SO good the other week and, like I did when i started, he was quickly asked by another, more experienced player if he would like some help learning how to use Proflight and this guy invited him to a private game where he was teaching a few other new guys how to evade missiles and basic Profilght maneuvers.

I had the same happen to me a long while back and once you get the basics down(and if you wanna fly you simply HAVE to get off the preset frills of "n00bflight" ASAP)the whol game opens up with possibilities and there's always a way to xact revenge on someone who's been pwning you for a bit! thing is I haven't been quite as into any other competitive MP game as Warhawk except TF2 and I've found both communities a lot more welcoming than more pick up and play titles like Halo or COD where you're kind of expected to be able to mix it from the off because of the shallower learning curve and uber aided aiming they have. I feel that Warhawk players(and it's definitely worth checking out the Warhawk threads on the official PS3 sites in your region if you would like some help to get you into things more quickly-but if you prefer it to be all your own work go for that too!)also l;ike the fact our srvers have remained so busy and it's quite a good thing, imo, to have newbies come along and add new blood to what I regard as one of the very best online games of this generation and more players means better games once they get past playing on the lower level servers-which are still pretty busy I'm told.

It's tough learning curve and won't be for everyone(I've seen ,many moans from good COD gamers saying it must be broken cos they couldn't get a kill!)but it's still possible to get into and is a very deep and varied gme despite it's arcade shooter stylings at points. Flying to a secluded sniping spot and popping off a few enemies before moving on so they can't get you after respawning still ranks right up there for me! Glad you enjoyed your first go fella, and honestly, I think you could easily find a few generous and helpful 'Hawkers with little effort if you'd like some tips.

wow, thanks for this post. This one actually gives me a lot of perspective, and while I've already gone and bought the game already it makes me feel better about the purchase... plus I played it for a long time last night and had a freakin blast, so that's also a good thing. BTW, when you mentioned TF2 in there, did you mean for consoles?! Holy crap, do people still play that game on PS3/360?

Warhawk has to be one of the LEAST noob friendly games I've ever played. Of course it's more noob friendly than Counter Strike, but then again almost everything is :?

does that game ever have a steep learning curve. I must say though once you get some skills, you have em forever lol. I use to game the heck out of that game. Cal online leagues and everything. funnnn times.

Nothing beats being leet with the AWP and just going into a server and killing everyone. Of course the first thing you will hear is you are a newb for using the AWP. Thing is its the most difficult gun to be effective in every situation with. Not to mention you have to be filthy with your sidearm if you want to live.

Easily the best FPS ever made online.

I've played it a couple times before (bought it on Steam when they were having the Christmas sales) and I think I shot, not even killed, 1 person in the couple hours I played. It probably didn't help too much that I was on a crappy laptop :P

Hey mate, yeah i know that was me generalizing, that was just my experience of playing it for a couple of days, what happened was i kept killing a moderator i guess over and over, cause he was flying over to our base wanting to 1 on 1 with his friend i guess, he got PO'ed and kick banned me. Go figure, i thought killing the opposition is what we were supposed to do.

Yeah, that happens sometimes when you join player hosted servers. You kill the host too many times you're likely to get the boot. That's why I stuck with official servers from day one. I've logged nearly 1000 hours playing this game. It's probably the most fun I've ever had playing online.
