All my friends stayed up drunk playing warhawk all night.

:? Technically Halo was never on any Playstation ... ... legally ...AnFangs_Endes
Yeah, but you know what I mean. :x
Halo is overhyped and so is Warhawk! Not worth the money, maybe Halo, but definetly not Warhawk!wade3024
I'm personally enjoying Warhawk over the Halo 3 beta. I've never been impressed with Halo's multiplayer. I'm an old school pc gamer and Halo does nothing special except give console owners a decent hyped game. UT3 will be better than Halo 3 MP wise. COD4 will be better than Halo 3 online.
In my opinion Warhawk was definitley worth the $20 or $40 we are purchasing it for. $40 on the PSN or $60 with a $40 Bluetooth headset--just depends how you look at it.
Yeah I guess the reason Halo blew up into a major fad in my High School gamer click was just because of how accessable the online was...but as far as 1 player mode went for both games, being Half-Life 1 and 2 junkies, we cringed at Halo's generic lifelessness just before we drooped into a a lethargic doze-off, until someone would be like "yeah this sucks lets make a Halo movie" and the online would once again resurrect its interest.
Being that Warhawk is online only, the developers really showed that they knew how to spend there time...and while Halo was simply fun for the fact that you shot a real person in the face and heard him drop and f-bomb, Warhawk has had its moments of eye-widening, crazy ass combat with over 20 planes in 1 section going nuts. At moments I am wowed with what the game is capable of, and at other I'm laughing my ass off at the unique situations in which you pull of something amazing, like 1 guy on foot taking on a tank a crap like that.
Bottom line, Warhawk is fun...come to your own conclusions about which is better, but if you're missing out on Warhawk just because of some system war mentality about which is better, then you're missing out period.
I hate tanks with a vengence bc you often get blasted out of nowhere while on foot, but I finally found a few ways to take one out on foot either the flamethrower or rocket launcher with some nades.jyoung312
If i ain't got a rocket launcher i mostly just jump on the tank and use my flamethrower on them. Works quit nicely :)
No, Solid Snake is playsation's Master Chief, when the MGS and Halo series has ended, Marcus Fenix will be the new MC on Xbox, and whoever the main character for KZ 2 is, will be the next Solid Snake most likely. Usually the next "insert popular game name here" for a system has to hae a main character that people get really attatched to, as well as a campaign, Warhawk is fun, but it won't be the game that defines the PS3, no way.jamejame
Solid Snake has never really been a system-seller, though. Sony's system-seller lastGen was GT and the Grand Theft Auto games.
Halo is unique in the amount of marketing dollars that go into it and the amount of enjoyment the Xbox community derrives from it (tens of thousands still play Halo 2 online daily...some 3 or 4 years after it launched). Sony is still waiting on their breakthrough social gaming experience. But it doesn't have a social game that brings the masses in like Halo. Not yet.

i agree with that 1000%. ive had waaaay more fun on unreal tournement than halo. UT has way more freedom and a robust multiplayer experience. plus its customizable. vehicles are way more advanced than halo could ever be (cause this is halos final chapter). only thing halo could have is its single player story (which 2 me sucked cause i couldnt get into it). halo is just an over hyped game. for the simple fact that everyone knows everyone will buy it. so they will 2 just to fit it. its call propaganda. bandwagon. i dont need halo to have the ultimate gaming experience nor do i need it to play narrowmind adolence players who pride the mess out of their system like they accomplished sumthin. playstation doesnt have a halo. nor will it. playstation is just wat it is. a playstation. to play games. not game. it has a more variety of genres to fit everyones needs. it doesnt need a halo to be dominate (look at last gen ps2. didnt have a halo. but beat the other consoles. even ms later released xbox with better graphics). its not all about visuals in my opinion. its about the games depth. if it doesnt get me hooked. i aint playin it. i dont care if everyone on earth owned halo. if i dont like it. i dont like it. and im not goin 2 force myself 2 like it cause everyone else does. with all this being said. i 2 would choose ut3 over halo. warhawk over halo. hell even tribes vengance over halo. 2 me tribes killed halo. man you get 2 fly around via get pack across large arenas. weapon upgrades. they had capture the flag but you wasnt limited 2 ground and vehicle movement. if you wanted 2 get away. u can boost hundreds of feet in the air and fly around. but so can the opposing team 2. that game required ma skillz. and 2 me beat the mess out of halos mulitplayer. so in conclusion. halo is way over hyped. maybe warhawk is 2. but my eyes is wat mr anderson said. ut3!! customization to the max!saying warhawk is like halo is like saying a ninja is a pirate. you cand debate all you want, but int eh end the ninjas gonna win :D
haha but seriously. it all depends on perspective. will people buy a ps3 to play warhawk? probably. was it as marketed as halo? no. so basically the only people that know about it are gamers. i for one, enjoy warhawk WAY more than halo. i got my first sniping headshot this morning LOL then blew a guy up from 50yds away using a rocket launcher. i have not had this much fun in a game in a long while.

I used to think the same thing and expressed my hate of warhawk on these forums. My friends sorta talked me into getting it and since, I love this game a lot. They tweaked some things since beta

I disagree about Solid Snake not being a system seller. Solid Snake and the Metal Gear Series is my favorite series of all videogames. When I was walking out of the store with my PS3 in hand I was thinking, I can't wait for MGS4. When I walked out of the store with the 360--Master Chief never crossed my mind.

Actually I think Socom was one of the first console online games. I'd definitely say Socom qualifies in terms of a breakthrough social gaming experience. Not only was in one or the first online console game, but it also did things no other game had done before--integrated clan and message support etc. I still have memories of how much fun I had back in the day with Socom. I believe that is what many people have with Halo and I understand that.

I agree I think UT3 MP is going to be better and with mouse and keyboard support for the Playstation 3 that's going to be awesome.

Great post man. I agree 100%.
Warhawk is fun little game, nothing more.
But then again, same goes with Halo. It had somewhat interesting plot, but overall completely unimpressive fun little game.
However, one will be always overrated game because it came out on a console that had no games, so it took all the spotlight. While Warhawk will soon be buried under number of quality games coming out on PS3 and be forgotten.
how about comparing it to socom2 online? instead of halo
that would make more sense
I havent picked up the game yet, but is it as addictive as socom?

Absynthetic
It has a learning curve that can keep some from enjoying it right away. I remember hearing some people on my mic talking about not liking it already because they were struggling with the Warhawk controls. It was a little hard at first but I still liked it then. When you get decent at it, it makes it that much more fun. Its really addictive now. I loving the air to air and ground to air combat.

Same here, the Halo3 beta was nothing new...
were not supposed to discuss the other console and its games here. also doesn't anyone else think its a bit early to define a definitive online shooter for the ps3, there will definitely be many many more.
the beta was fun the game is fun but now after playing it for a while kind of wish they had more options. it be cool if you can do like sniper only on a map or no vehicles or select the vehicles on the map, stuff like that.
at least for now everyone loving the game, which is great cause it makes for plenty of people to play with online. and from now on let stick to making comparison within the sony consoles at least. unless people think that all three current console are equal then there is now way to fairly compare them.
edit...
oops one more thign there is an official warhawk sticky now and all future discustion of warhawk are supposed to be done there. don't want anyone getting in trouble, i didn't notice it for a while either lol
