it is but its improved...plus you use the eye toy with it so some of the games you play you see your own room.
and isn't kinect just microsofts version of the playstation eye toy?, companies do this all the time, they take whats popular and try to do their own thing with it, when the ipod came out and was crazy popular, microsoft came out with their zune trying to get into mp3 player buisness, don't know why people think sony is the only one doing it.
I would of used a different analogie when regarding the Ipod market. Sony invented that with the Walkmen. That being said this guy is 100% correct If you already have a Wii I see no point.and isn't kinect just microsofts version of the playstation eye toy?, companies do this all the time, they take whats popular and try to do their own thing with it, when the ipod came out and was crazy popular, microsoft came out with their zune trying to get into mp3 player buisness, don't know why people think sony is the only one doing it.

That being said this guy is 100% correct If you already have a Wii I see no point. no i stand by what i said, its basically companies wanna get into a market then they'll take the concept and add to it and change it and if you have a wii i don't see why you wouldn't get the move it actually has games that appease to the hardcore crowd and i'm sure we're going to see games that the wii can't do but the ps3 move can.and isn't kinect just microsofts version of the playstation eye toy?, companies do this all the time, they take whats popular and try to do their own thing with it, when the ipod came out and was crazy popular, microsoft came out with their zune trying to get into mp3 player buisness, don't know why people think sony is the only one doing it.

One of the biggest differences is that the Move uses 1-to-1 movement tracking, while the wii doesn't. That means that if the Move is tracking a swing on "Tiger Woods", your swing is exactly tracked where-as the wii is simply looking for a movement "trigger". The Move much more accurately determines the path of the actual swing, velocity, etc. The wii only translates the broad strokes of movement.
So no, the Move is not actually a wii remote. Technically. It's much more involved and accurate to the player's movements.
Actually the new gameinfomer did a whole thing on this. Everyone thinks that Sony got the idea from nintedo. But no. Aprantally sony was working on it way before then. It was actually supposed to come out for PS2 but it wasn't ready but now it is
Yeah and: The 360 is a version of the Wii The Wii is a version of the PS3 The PS3 is a version of the 360 The PS2 is a version of the original Xbox The Gamecube is a version of the PS2 etc etc in your logic. And, actually, for once, it is logic - nothings originalAdziboy
The PS1 is a version of the N64
The PS2 is a version of the Gamecube
The PS3 is a version of the Wii
The PSP is a version of the DS
you get the idea.
Why ask a question you basically know the answer to? :|
Plus, there was word of an early dreamcast prototype controller that, if released, wouldhave beenthe original predecessor to the Wii mote:
So the question becomes, "isn't Nintendo Wii just their version of an unreleased Dreamcast remote?"
notice the last two.
like it or not, Nintendo is the godfather of gaming. Of course people would "copy" them, why shouldnt they?Nintendo should be proud TBH. They're leading the way to the future, and other companies follow in their footsteps. Just look at the 3DS now, that's the future right there, baby.
Yep. Move is a Wii mote for people who want to play proper games or games aimed at a more hardcore audience.
Kinect is just Eyetoy. Thing is you won't be able to play first person shooters successfully on kinect without some sort of controller. Why do I mention FPS? Because it is the most popular videogame genre.
The thing with both is that first person shooters play perfectly fine with a regular 360 or Dual Shock 3 controller or keyboard and mouse - Move and Kinect are little more than gimmicks in that regard.Yep. Yeah they're totally paving the way for online gaming and photo-realistic graphics  The 3DS looks cool and I'm sure it would be awesome to have one, but I really don't feel like spending close to $300 on one when I know they'll just release an updated version of it a year later. I love Nintendo, but they aren't "leading the way to the future" in all areas.
[QUOTE="DJ_Lae"]Yes, Move is basically a Wiimote with motion plus, with a small bit of extra fidelity afforded it by requiring the use of a camera and the silly glowing ball on top. The main problem with both Move and Kinect is that they were hastily created when the Wii was in full popularity mode and now that it's waned, they're going to be releasing their products on an audience that largely doesn't give a **bleep** any more. A new Wii system with wii motion+, wii sports and wii sports resort: $199 PS3 Move bundle: $99 plus Nav Controller: $39 for total of $148 So roughly $50 difference, barely cheaper, considering the wii bundle comes with a console.....Yes, your point? At least it's cheaper than a wii if you already have a ps3.
Loegi
It is but its far more accurate. It will really boil down to how the developers adopt it we will either get innovative fun games or wagglefest rehashes its in the developers court lets see what they can do.

It's also much more accurate than the Wii remote.

after reading the review for Sports Champions for the Move, it seems it is really encouraged to add a second Move controller for certain games, so add another $50 to the previously mentioned costs.....now even with the cost of a new wii system. Maybe the game supports will be great though. I already have a "party" console, so the ps3 is "my" console. Gonna take some great single player experiences to justify this cost, at least for me...Please Log In to post.
