I have had the pleasure of owning a 60g PS3 since December 23 2006.  I have 5 games for it and recently purchased a new home theater set-up because I wanted to expand my enjoyment of the PS3 with regards to its graphic and audio capabilities.

I don't think I could be happier with my purchase or with my overall experience.  I find myself enjoying it even when I am not actually using the system just from the pleasure I get with running the folding program.

Just thought I would share a positive thought regarding the PS3 as this is the PS3 forum and you should be able to express a positve thought about the system in here.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and by all means if you have something positive you would like to share feel free to do it in this post.

It is nice indeed.  I just think they can make improvements with the firmware and customization abilities and we are set.  But those are minor things they can fix over time.

I think shelling out a grand for a few controllers a game and a half-assed, overpriced, overrated console that wants to be a computer so rediculously bad it fails before it even gets on the stage.

Unfortunately I made the mistake of buying one, and forunately there weren't any to be found anywhere so I made a couple hundred dollars EXTRA after selling it back (which was a good thing)

Thankfully I'm getting the new directx 10 card and a whole entire new computer to play games and do everything the ps3 wishes it could do.

Glad you had a nice purchase.

May I ask what your PC does that the PS3 is unable to perform?

It should be after Trek revealed 86% of his posts were made in the PS3 board. (Of which the majority I'm willing to bet are negative references)

Despite the fact that he doesn't own one.

Ouch.

No sir, Cellien is a public sort, not afraid to show his true colours.

Certain others that seem to trample through these here parts have changed their profile to private after a few conversations with me.  Not sure why.  Can't understand why you would post all your brilliant, educated and completely unbiased thoughts on the internet for millions of loyal readers and then set your profile to private to deny them the simple pleasure of witnessing your genius.

Truth be told, it's got to be a pretty rotten feeling anyway to want a PS3, not be able to get one, and be left with just posting messages on a board about it.

We might have a PS3 and it's not telling us? So if he only has a 360 what's the problem? none to me. And he doesn't quite troll, he posts facts in a very hard way. Of course some of the facts aren't true but...those are few.

And we must agree that PS3i sn't a perfect system...yet. At least it's better than the others :P

I love my ps3, never would regret it for a second.

Its kinda like a newborn babby, at first it just craps and cries, and smiles sometimes, then it learns to sit up straight, then crawl, then walk and run and then even sprint. right now we are in the process of learnig to sit up straight. :)

Had my PS3 since NA Launch, no problems, (other than when i duped something 5000 times in oblivion), and i love all the games.  I plan on starting a blu-ray collection as soon as they become available for 20 bucks or so (DVD pricing)

Agreed and you can also check in with Celli to see that I have commented positvely to him when he is not blatantly picking at the system.  My suggestion still stands to all who read a comment from someone.  Take a long look at their post history to determine if what they have to say is of value or simply useless propogand and disinformation.  I have gone to SW once, complimented someone on  a great post and left.  I have been to the MS forum several times for info and have always been treated graciously and had my questions answered quickly and informatively regardless of the fact that my sig was a pro PS3 sig.  However in my posts you can see I don't troll about town.  There are those that treat it as a career and I think 86% and private says more than enough.

I've owned a 60GB PS3 since February and I too have thoroughly enjoyed it. I was very impressed by the clarity of BluRay movies and the games I've played thus far: Resistance, Marvel (eh...I enjoyed it...most won't agree though :)), and Oblivion have all lived up to my expectations.

Awesome system.

mdl207

Marvel was well received on all platforms. It got good reviews, and was an even better game than the X-Men Legends Series. I don't think anyone would slag you off over Marvel. It is a great game.

That's good to hear. I enjoyed the X Men Legends series immensely so I figured it would be a good game to start off with. It definitely doesn't offer breathtaking graphics (after all, it was on last gen systems as well) but I enjoyed the gameplay quite a bit. There are those who don't particularly enjoy mashing the X button 10 million times though and I can agree with their viewpoint as well ;)

Excellent!!  We have gone 34 posts and not one single bad comment against ANY other console.

Wow, you guys rock!!  No bashing just a little love.  It can be done!

I can't wait to finish my day and get to some PS3 action!!  I am working through Superhuman on Resistance, only three quarters of the way through Motorstorm, barely scratched the surface of Tiger 2007, RR7 or FNR3.  Lots to be done!!  Tax season is over in a 9 more days, then I can relax and play more!

The PS3 is a sleek and reliable console. Mine has been working perfectly since I bought it in December, and hasn't even froze once. I have been playing Resistance and Motorstorm online a lot, but I have also been enjoying games like Oblivion, VF5, FA2, and Tekken 5 : DR.

I like the PSN a lot. Sure it isn't as good as XBL, but it doesn't have to be. It offers me online gaming and voice chat for free, and Home will make the experience even better.

I can't wait to see what the future holds for the PS3. This console has great potential.

Indeed! I just hope I don't get pulled into the "Home" experience too much that I am spending $2 on a new shower curtain. :)

Im still amazed that I only have TWO cables (not including the occasional usb cable) plugged into the back of my PS3.. One in the power source and one in the back of the TV. I keep pinching myself because I can not believe it. After all the years of owning PCs and game consoles, i am used to cables EVERYWHERE, AV cables, power bricks, controller cables, ect..!

Wow...that's dedication!

I didn't get one at launch but rather waited until February of this year. Even at that time, most of the stores were sold out. I checked all the usual culprits: Best Buy, CompUSA, Costco, and Gamestop. All sold out. Still.

But then I got the suggestion to try at Toys R Us. Not a bad idea. Not too many parents walking into Toys R Us expecting to spend $600 for their kid. (console or otherwise)

And sure enough, there were still 5-6 units left! (all 60GB)

[QUOTE="jackle2071"]i just got a new HD-TV and the PS3 looks amazing on it. it was worth evry penny! rogerjak
I envy you. i want a HDTV too!!

It's awesome. I had been stuck with a 27" Sanyo from Wal-Mart for so many years and now that I've moved to Europe I've made a few changes and purchased a 40" Sony Bravia 1080P X Series LCD. Absolutely gorgeous. Everyone who can should save up and get an HDTV if you've got a PS3. Well worth the investment for the enjoyment you get out of both. Love all 10 of my games too.

BioShockOwnz

free is the keyword :P

Indeed! I just hope I don't get pulled into the "Home" experience too much that I am spending $2 on a new shower curtain. :)

LMAO!!

"OMG!! A new shower soap holder!! And it's only $5!" XD

I love my ps3, never would regret it for a second.

Its kinda like a newborn babby, at first it just craps and cries, and smiles sometimes, then it learns to sit up straight, then crawl, then walk and run and then even sprint. right now we are in the process of learnig to sit up straight. :)

Spider_Man3

But it still sometimes drool, but will be able to eat solid food soon! :P

That's not a commercial! It's a trailer. Sony is secretly developing PS9 for years now.

Still love Resistance, Ridge Racer 7 and Motorstorm.

I just need more games for it. :(
