it hasnt been "officially" stated that its here, but no doubt about it that its coming from the bombardment of rumours... Some one any sony let it slip big time...
If you mean confirmed by Sony... then no, if you mean confirmed by every store that will be selling them... then yes. Best Buy has it in the SKU databank dated for 10/28/07, I would call that as confirmed as it gets.
Seems, to me, to be some sort of desperate move on Sony's part to boost sales. So does this new system have all the same specifications as the $500 and $600 dollar systems, except for a smaller hdd?
Actually Sony isn't really a relaible source anymore when it comes to confirming things. Look at the dualshock 3... there were rumors, pictures of it at game conferences, developers saying they were using it. Sony kept denying that it was being made or that it existed, not commenting on rumorsuntil Tokyo Game show came this year and what was shown... the Dualshock 3. Don't you find it kinda strange that we are going through a deja vu factor all over again with so much evidence pointing out that the 40 GB sku actually exists and will be coming out this month because of store vendors computers. Sony is going to deny this as long as possible, you know that, we know that. The 40 GB is coming out this month but Sony just are pouting that their secret is slowly being leaked out before an announcement can be made... or at least a commercial.
if you're talking about the 40 gig yes, if you talking about the 40 gig bundles rumored (Ratchet and Clank FTOD and a 40 gig, SPiderman 3 on Bluray and a 40GIG.)
its coming no doubt to the U.S and U.K, the only question is when and when is sony gonna just come out with it.

If this is true then I might just jump on the band wagon, Folklore,Heavenly Sword and Drakes Fortune are really looking good right now..... Any ps3 games hit the bargin bin yet? I know it hasnt been out long but 29.99 for Resistance would make me a happy camper:)
