OMG OMG! I am starting to freak out! My hotmail account is locked! My password has suddenly changed and its saying that if I forgot then i need to change my password.

When I go to change it screen refreshes and it won't reset the password. Who the hell could have changed my password?

I have selected the "I think some one is using my windows live ID" and then i try to change it again and it says that all of my personal information to my Live account is missing?! How did it get deleted in the 1st friggin place?! What should I do guys?

It's not from PSN, relax. The same thing happened to me few days ago, it asked me to change my password for absolutely no reason and I couldn't even log onto MSN with my old password. My PSN and Hotmail passwords are completely different, so I can't imagine they got it from there. Unless some hacker decided to spend a day of his life trying to run a script to get some random person's (me) password.

Just use the page you get to change your password and you'll be fine.

same thing happen to me, I read that some hotmail accounts information were stolen, maybe MS made everyone change the PW. But yeah there is a difference from asking you to change the PW from a person being locked out.

Unless you're using the same password for your hotmail account as you do for your PSN account, I don't see how that's possible.

Yeah agreed, too many people use easily obtained passwords i mean bebo and other social sites have a areas: Favourite movie, game, pet names.. They are just sites where people will scour to find easy victims who actually have their passowrd as their pet name and then tell the world their email address right next to it... Idiotic to say the least. Also hotmail is owned by Microsoft.. suspicious that it just happened to be hotmail accounts being hacked? Probably not but might be a xbox fanboy admin working at hotmail :P

Hotmail is a target for hackers. Someone stole mine and Microsoft won't give it back to me. Ive had that account since the 90's and never set up a secondary email to reset my password. Now I can't access my Microsoft certification transcripts. They also have no phone support for it so I can't talk to a live person about it. Needless to say, it's extremely unlikely it has anything to do with the psn hack. My advice, get a yahoo or gmail account and create a strong password.

Ok, i closed the explorer/firefox and the hotmail, then tried to sign-in on the hotmail, the explorer opened and promped me to change the password again, i did and this time it worked.

I have around 6-7 hotmail accounts, this only happened to 2. (well, i also have several gmail accounts... like 5) so yeah, both passwords changed.

This is truly boring now... My PSN email is a Gmail account and I received the same message from Hotmail. I changed the password and read all my messages. This have NOTHING to do with Sony. This is a Hotmail thing.

Jesus, from now on, if someone has a headache it will be Sony's PSN fault...

So what is the problem with Hotmail? Has something similar happened to them that happened to Sony?

Given that this seems to be something wrong with Hotmail rather than something caused by the PSN hack, I'm going to lock this down.
