I bought the game about a week ago. I'm still in the process of completing through the campaign for the first time. It was a bad mistake thinking that I should try out the on-line mutiplayer. I got owned in every which way possible.Starting upinto a death match room...I must have gotten only about 4 kills out the five matches I played. Then I said to myself "F" this. I think I'm going to wait until I beat the game on hard b4 I try on-line again. How embarrassing.

i'm right with you dude. i'm struggling through single-player offline mode (whatever it's called) right now and I'm not doing too good. And yeah, that's on the easy setting.

after my first few dozen deaths in as many minutes on RFOM when i first started playing it i decided i had no ambition to play online until i could manage to stay alive longer. i want to finish the game at least on the medium skill setting before i go online to play.

First level of the game was hellish. No health or anything. Online is also difficult, but then again sometimes not. Its just depends whos playing. I went on one night and I got killed because I was laughing so much at people swearing at each other over thier headsets :P

I'm going to try changing the "look sensitivity" setting (think that's what it's called) from the default 4 to something higher (assuming that means more sensitive) because one of the problems I have is aiming quickly and following a moving target. it seems like i have to move the right stick a bit before it starts moving on screen, and by then I've overdone it and my aim goes right past my target, so I have to shift back the other way. makes me wonder if my conroller is bad.

well, if you guys were previous PS2 owners I don't blame ya :P. There weren't that many challenging shooters on it to get you better. Thankfully, i have gotten very good at shooters through many hours of play, and this really shows no challenge online for me (except for the lag). Just keep at it and u'll get good at shooters sooner or later, just don't give up!

noooooo, it couldnt be! thats too simple!!!!

All kidding aside. FPS on consoles take a little bit getting used to, even if you played FPS for PCs. Only way to get better at aiming (and whatever else you want to do in life) is to practice it. My suggestion is: Keep playing against those tough opponents, the tougher the opponent, the better you will get.

Sometimes you can be just lucky I play this game on and off on-line and my rank isn't that high. So I'd say I'm about average at this game but when playing the other day I go my first 7 kills ribbon it wasn't that I'd dramatically improved at the game I just happened to be at the right place at the right time.

My advice would be to practice playing multiplayer splitscreen against some friends. I did that first and got to where I could whoop up on my friends then I switched to online and didn't have any problems. You should also try some of the unranked games that have really high kill limits, so you can play for an extended period of time getting used to the environments and weapons. If these things and a considerable amount of playing don't help you get better then you might just suck at FPS'ers. GOOD LUCK!!!

Also try to join squads.

By pressing the select button (or is it the start button) and choose change team (squad) whatever it says.

The top one (NONE) is for everyone and you have to press L3 to speak, if you join a team you don't have to press any buttons.

Also don't expect to do good right away, it'll take to months to get to the level many players who had the game since launch is at.

yeah online is CHAOTIC. and i mean seriously chaotic. see, you basically just have to run out in the middle of everything and just shoot and kill as much as you can before you die. cause its not like Rainbow Six, which is the complete opposite--take cover behind a wall, then pop out and shoot. in resistance online, you just have to go for it--there no such thing as cover. i took me a while to realize that!

resistance is typically a harder than average game, but you'll get used to it. Never stop moving, especailly online, and once you get a hang of everything you should be fine. Use the recharging health system well. IT takes some practice but once you master those four bars, you'll be set.

I wasnt to good before, of course i wasnt as bad as you though only getting 4 kills. I used to only come in like 7th place. Then i started playing team matches and finished campaign and the when i started playing FFA again i was coming in first and starrted getting all these clan invatations. You will get better eventually.

Dude, every game is like that if you don't buy it right off the bat at release. You'll get better. I totally suck at Rainbow Six: Vegas on 360, but I keep trying (though I'm really not sure if I'll ever get better, this game is HARD online).

Hey man, sure you can press down the L3 button, but this requires you to stop. All you need to do to hear everyone is change your frequency. Press the start button and change your frequency from one of the sub-menus (cannot remember what the sub-menu is called, second option down I believe). Then, you will be able to hear every person that is also on that frequency without having to hold down the button. This way you can shoot and talk at the same time. Hope that helps.

The standard weapons take some practice, so maybe pick up a shotgun (as long as you are not out in the open) get in close and use the second function (this is especially effective as chimera) for a one hit kill. Just practice with each weapon, you may find that there is one you can use much better than others.

If you would like you can practice with my clan, any one of you can. Send a buddy invite to PSN ID: Clawed.

Your look sensitivity problem doesn't sound like a look sensitivity problem at all. If you are noticing a delay between your controller input and the action onscreen, it sounds like lag. It's most noticable with the analog sticks, though odds are there is a breif delay when you press a button as well. What kind of TV are you using? How's your PS3 hooked up, and what resolution is it set to output?

[QUOTE="coolcon2000"]First level of the game was hellish. No health or anything. Online is also difficult, but then again sometimes not. Its just depends whos playing. I went on one night and I got killed because I was laughing so much at people swearing at each other over thier headsets :PDarkclaw007

Hey speaking of headsets...How-come when I use my BT headset, I can hear ppl while the level is loading up. But once the game has started, I don't hear anybody at all? Is it my headset or a setting or something?

-777-

All I can suggest is pressing down the R3 button I think it is (or is it L3?) I don't have a headset, so I can't help you there, sorry.

R3 & L3? Where are those?

-777-

Press down the anolog stick on the PS3 controller then try speaking.

Oh ok. I didn't know that you had to do that B4 anybody could hear me. Thanks man

-777-

Hey man, sure you can press down the L3 button, but this requires you to stop. All you need to do to hear everyone is change your frequency. Press the start button and change your frequency from one of the sub-menus (cannot remember what the sub-menu is called, second option down I believe). Then, you will be able to hear every person that is also on that frequency without having to hold down the button. This way you can shoot and talk at the same time. Hope that helps.

yeah youre talking about the different squads......the squads really help in team objective

To those that are new to the game and the online multiplayer... I'd say work through the single player a little bit first to get used to all the buttons. But more importantly, remember that a lot of the people you are playing against have played for a long time. Last night I wentinto a ranked deathmatchfor the first time in a long time and was amazed at how good I was (where as I'd say I was just an average player before). I assume it's because there are a lot of people new to the game. But don't get discouraged... people like myselfhave just played more than you. You just need practice.

Its ok dude. I was really bad when I first started. Online games have a longer learning curve. Just give it a couple weeks and you wont regret it. It is the best Online shooter Ive played.

Don't give up, just spend alittle more time at it. Call some friends over and play a couple of Off-line Multiplayer games. A few of those and your skills will increase greatly. And if you feel like your good enough, play against the best "On-line"
