I remember a topic on System Wars about how VF5 sold 30K on ONE day, while DOA4 sold 60k in a week?

Honestly, this isn't too surprising. Virtua Fighter is an arcade franchise. Players care more about their VFNet ranking and stats than any console play they could take in. Anyone who buys this is doing it for after-hours play, or for when they don't have any coin for ranked battles. Or practice, of course. You never hear about console VF setting the world on fire over in Japan. It's all about the arcades. Over here...yeah, we're lucky to even be getting console ports.

Kotaku is a gaming news website.  There stories are based on facts.  It would appear that it's a fact that VF5 is not selling well (at this point) in Japan.  If you feel like you can dispute this fact with evidence, great.  If not, it would appear that you're doing nothing but trolling these forums.

It would appear that by ignoring the facts, you are "not a good source for anything. end of story."

Same here. I`d much rather get Army of Two or Assassin`s Creed. It`s sad that PS3 fans should be excited about a fighting game due to the lack of other titles :P I quit playing those like 5 years back. It`s just plain boring!

It may be opinionated, but most of the news is based on hard facts.  You really can't argue with that.  Just because a lot of the news is bad for the PS3 doesn't mean it should be avoided.

Kotaku is a joke and they are biased. wait for official japan weekly sales before we come to a conclusion. so far, VF5 has sold 30,000 copies in day, thats pretty impressive.

LOL, no way in H*ll are Kotaku news based on "facts" as they time after time bring false informations and some times even reprint already debunked rumours as facts.

Except for all the times they have printed false information and rumours that have already been debunked as facts. It has been on sale for a couple of days now and is close to beating doa4's week benchmark in only two days. AND in response to the story, online play is not included because of the whole counter frame system cannot be accurately played unless it is TOTALLY lag free, which the developers have already stated that home internet connections are not capable of that.

also the bit that the reason for it is that vf5 has no online functionality as the reason for the poor sales....

especially when they just say it, and not really provide links to survey's, questionaires or some other ish... and just flat out say it like that. Kinda hard to believe.

especially when games like tekken, soul calibur and virtua fighter never had online funtionality to begin with...... and still did amazingly well on the ps2. where as Doa 4 isn't doing so hot with online . so I'm not gonna take this seriously.
