Will the american version of FFXIII have japanese voice acting because I'll rather read subtitles than listening to corny english dubs.

NO!!!.I hope it does.Older RPGs like Blue Dragon had it where you could choose English,Japanese and even French so it is not impossible.I will demand Square to do it....and you will help me do it samurai.I will hold you hostage until I get what I want. Thanks for volunteering by the way.

Up that. Personally I think Japanese puts the most effort into voice-acting when it comes to their own games and animation, so I always perfer original voice-acting whenever possible. Side-note: I perfer English voice-acting over Japanese when it come to western games though, so don't get me wrong, I'm not a ***-fan or something, I just felt that depending on the origin of the game, it is best served with it's own language.

Maybe we should all email Square to let them know we, as consumers, want *** voiceover with english subs. This way is more effective to get them release it in such a way that satisfies our demand.

I could care less about the language, but it would still be nice for the Japanese voices to be included. I like to use the English voices for my first playthrough and then switch to the Japanese ones on my 2nd playthrough. It's not a big deal to me though if they aren't included.

Wishful thinking. That would mean that the English version would need to essentially DOUBLE the number of audio files for voices - space on the disc they can't spare, especially since memory will be more of a problem on the 360 DVDs, let alone the Blu-Ray disc once it goes NA/PAL.

I'm just basing my theory off of SquareEnix's previous FF titles. It's totally possible, but less likely because a game of this magnitude (the demo alone took over 5 GBs) will have less space available for extra features such as a COMPLETELY different voice track, than something like Eternal Sonata. But while I'm a hostage, can I be put on a leather leash and chained onto a pole in a naughty position?

ya...we should all contact Square Enix to include Japanese voice acting with english subtitles. They should even just keep it in Japanese but change the written things to english for North American version. That way, we get to play the game sooner :D

I also will never understand the want for Japanese dubs over English dubs. I'd much rather listen to badly done english voice acting that I can actually understand then Japanese gibberish that I can't understand a word of. And whose to say most Japanese dubs are done well? Anyone who doesn't speak Japanese already couldn't possibly have a valid opinion on it. And not all English voice acting is bad. I'll grant you that there have been some bad ones, but you can't completely generalize it like that. FFXII had excellent english dubs.

The bull crap on Dub > Sub and Sub > Dub shows just how little some of you are familiar with the good ole saying "It depends on the game". I bet some of you would even say Fullmetal Alchemist has bad dub too.

Obviously if you have English subtitles accompanying a Japanese voice track then you'd imagine the language barrier would vanish...just saying. Also you are very mistaken in assuming that someone who doesn't "speak" Japanese wouldn't understand it *knows this all too painfully*

To be honest, I'm not really fond of subititles. I love taking in the surroundings in the game/movie and I feel robbed by being forced to read the dialog. Yes, some english dubs are horrible, but some I can get past or ignore.

Though, I just wish I knew Japanese and it would be a whole world of easy lol

FF never messes up their dubs, IMO ff7 AC, FFX, FFX-2 were great, although, ff12 was a overall 'meh' game to me..hopefully with the ff10/7/KH team, they wont mess up 13.

I believe in power of Blu-Ray!!!!!

we should get Japanese voice option. No excuse. Even red necks should agree that more options are better.
