[QUOTE="americahellyeah"]i'm glad he's gone, i want information not a fat guy.Deviltrigger
lol :P
seriously thouhg, if i wanted a sarcastic fat guy that tries to be funny but fails on so many levels i'd start watching simpson again.
i always hated him as well, i never liked the way he reviews gamesDeviltrigger
i know, i would much prefer morgan webb or olivia munn :drool:
if he really was fired because of that review, it once again shows gamespot is paid for reviews and can be bias.

Were did you here that Jeff got fired? I think this is a BAD RUMOR!!! If he were actually fired, it would say somthing on his blog, and it doesn't. So without proof I'm guessing that this post is just the spreading of a bad rumor.JaclarksCNET already said it's true. DOn't ask me for a link, don't remenber where...
Gamespot is NOT paid for reviews, that's the whole point. There's an editorial crew and a sales crew in the gamespot corporation. The sales team is probably filled by Cnet's suit people since they took this site over. Those sales people make deals with publishers to get advertisements on the site. This isn't bad because it's probably the main source of money for gamespot. However, eidos wasn't probably very happy about Jeff's review and GS's sales team had to explain a lot. Since those sales people are only into money and marketing, they WANT the editiorial crew to be more positive about heavily advertised games. However the policy of gamespot's reviews does not match with that. To avoid such difficult situations in the future, CNet has fired jeff, to make a statement probably. That's why the review crew is mad as hell right now, they don't want to sell out their integrity. I wouldn't be surprised if they go on a collective strike. And that's probably why they fired Jeff this weekend and not when the review went online. The flood of reviews is over now that all the big games are on sale. So if they review crew is going to take actions now, it won't have a big impact.if he really was fired because of that review, it once again shows gamespot is paid for reviews and can be bias.

Fact is you can't trust a source when they are threatened or may even feel threatened if they write the truth or not. For a long time the PS3 community has questioned GS credibility. GS for example gave R&C the lowest score on the web and then tied with another site for the lowest on the web with the Uncharted review. This is just icing on the cake.

when a company will fire a dood because a 3rd party company thretens to pull the funds, gamespot was giving into the money. that just screams reliable right? no that just shows how weak gamespot is.

It's suspicious if the reviewers give 9.0 scores when they actually deserve a 6.0 No publisher is going to pay to for a low score of another publishers game, that's not realistic. Although I don't agree with the relatively low score for R&C I don't believe it has something to do with a bribe or something. It's just a case of personal preference, reviewers are human too you know.[QUOTE="TheFlush"][QUOTE="GlassDominion"]Gamespot is NOT paid for reviews, that's the whole point. No that shows how unreliable the sales team is. I totally trust the review crew, I don't think they will ever conform to Cnets demands. I predict some acton from the review crew, massive resignment or a collective strike or something.[QUOTE="GlassDominion"][QUOTE="TheFlush"][QUOTE="GlassDominion"]Gamespot is NOT paid for reviews, that's the whole point. gamespot the site disabbled the user reviews because they didnt want users pooring in bad reviews of the game as well.
gamespot has shown it gives into the dollars, and honestly i didnt trust the review team much to start with. the way the ratchet and clank review was handled this site is about money.
this site gets more hits when their review of ratchet and clank is a whole 2 points lower than the rest, thus making them more money. perhaps gamespot stacked it to give a guy who reviews nothing but sports games to review ratchet and clank? doesnt sound like its that guys kind of game.
fire jeff cause he showed some balls and reviewed kane and lynch the right way? yeap gamespot just wants money.
you attack me cause i have no faith in this site, when your just trying to force your opinion on me.

thank god hes gone
sad but bussiness is bussiness, guys - that will give the chance for someone else to come in and do their thing - maybe they are good, maybe better, or maybe just worse - change be it good or bad is at the end of the day change - we will adapt and so will the spot. still a great site, still a good place, dont wanna go to IGN and aint gonna go. But you gotta feel sorry for the guy, and his fans.
Life goes on guys.......
u just had to go and diss the simpsons man..... lolbluezclue

Are you kidding me!? that show truly didn't start to suck until season 13, now it's just unbearable to watch. But season 9 and 10 are perfect, I can't belive you don't like the max power one. But anyway Jeff was the heart, flab and soul of gamespot and now without him they are just another souless website.
