Job Listing: L.A. Noire Now Multiplatform...

file this as unconfirmed rumor for now... but as i always say, rumors based off of real job listings tend to be more truthful than your average run of the mill rumors. although, this job listing can all just be a typo.

here is the job listing. at the bottom of the page, under the section of job details, it states that the game will be both on the PS3 and 360 platform.

hopefully for Sony's sake... they take the MS approach and jump in to give R* games some financial incentive to keep their earlier promise that this game was going to be PS3 exclusive.

where has it been listed as multiplatform before? this is the first time i have even heard of a rumor that this game might go multiplatform based off of a job listing.

Though your speculation might be right.

I could also be that they are specifying the job details and that they are wanting someone that will be able to work with 360/ps3 consoles. Maybe it has nothing to do with the game.

Anyways we will just have to wait for a formal announcement.

You might be reading it wrong too. It says that there current game is la noire but the job description is for art/animation. It doesn't say for a specific game. It could also be future games on the playstation 3 and xbox 360. Doesn't specifically say la noire.

It's very possible, but I remember this happened with BioShock too and we all know that stayed exclusive. While it wouldn't shock me to see it go multiplatform, we'll all just have to wait for an announcement to make it official.

As a side note, I don't care if the game goes multiplatform as long as the quality of the game doesn't suffer since it's being made for two, very different systems. That's the only reason I ever care if a game goes multiplatform. I think it's safe to assume that if a game was developed with only the PS3 in mind that it would be far superior to any game developed with both systems in mind, thus the only reason I wouldn't want it to be multiplatform is if the quality of the game suffered.

I base my statement after seeing the extreme quality of the latest and upcoming PS3 exclusives versus the quality of the multiplatform games out and coming out. Clearly there is an extreme difference when a developer only thinks about the PS3 rather then both systems.

Apart from 1 trailer is anything known about this game? I mean has R* ever even said its an exclusive?

Something was said on E3. I think Jack Tretton or whatever his name is said something about Rockstar.

also i read somewhere that La Noire was to big for DVD.

The fact is that R* is a talented bunch of people... apart from the GTA franchise, they made the severely underrated Red Dead Revolver... when you can make a good Western game, which is the hardest thing in the industry to make, apparently, you've got something good going. Then there's Bully, where they proved they could make something good that wasn't Mature rated. Getting hyped about an R* game isnt' much different than getting hyped about an upcoming Square Enix game.

Then there's the fact that this is a game based on a film genre that's very popular and has artistic credibility, which leads people to believe that the game will have artistic ambitions... games that push the envelope in that way are always welcome.

i think the guy is asking where the idea of LA Noire being multiplatform for 6 months... since that is what teebeenz originally stated.

Yeah I know but "teebeenz" said it's been said to be multiplat for 6 months when this was just released today...

They never said it was an exclusive anyway, all we know is that we were getting an exclusive from Rockstar, people presumed L.A. Noire.
Obviously they presumed wrong - I hope the game fails.

R* had LA Noire in their financial report as being on PS3. no other console was listed at that time.

We understand the confusion, to some degree, as the game in question was listed as being released only on the PlayStation 3 by Take-Two Interactive itself at one point. Then, just six-weeks later, the official PlayStation blog brought word of Team Bondi franchise exclusivity. In the blog's defense, it did write that L.A. Noire was not that franchise.

Also the founder of Team Bondi is a Sony employee and I'm certain Sony has made an agreement with him for atleast 2 exclusive games for PS3, LA Noir being one of them.

I don't think LA Noire will be PS3 Exclusive, although I remeber reading somewhere that the game will be too big to fit on DVD somewhere back (may be confused w/ other game).

Here's the official page from Team Bondi, and even they have the game listed as "Next Generation Consoles". For all I know, that's PS4 and Xbox 720 (Xbox 360-2? whatever :roll: ).
