I tried downloading a jpg image to set as my wallpaper earlier today. However, when i tried to view the file, nothing happens and it gets stuck there.. the system doesn't respond to anything except the PS button. I tried restarting it and trying it again but it happened again.. tried with 2 different resolutions too 1600x1050 and one lower. Can PS3s not view these files? I have opened pictures before, not sure why its happening. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Sure is a 90s jpeg format and not a jpeg2000 file?
not sure about 90s/2000 format. Ill just try some other pictures from different sites. My PS3 crashed just a while ago now when I tried to enter system settings.. I hope its not a frequent thing cuz i just took it out of the box today.
anyone able to help out? I'm wondering if my system is defective (again!) or if there is a setting for viewing images, or if my resolution is causing a conflict.
